If you get a papsmear and STD screening it's free. ( with the std screening only )
If you want to just get the pills and not do a pap smear it's 80 bucks usually plus the cost of the pills. so 95
again sliding scale is there though.
I think the last time I had an annual(without using in surance) it cost me $90 plus the cost of the pills.
I've heard they do sliding scales, but they presented it to me as a set cost and didnt ask any questions to determine my income.
Then again..I went about a week ago to diagnose and treat a yeast infection and it cost me $25 plus meds.
Best thing would be to call your local clinic and ask.
It depends on how much you make. I lied and said I made 2k a month (I thought that was low enough). They charged me $300 for my depot shot (they also make you have some little doctor meeting if it's your first time... which they also charge you for). They don't check so you could say you make whatever you want to... When I made the appt, the lady on the phone didn't have an accurate answer for me for the cost and told me that she really didn't know.
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

I told them I make 800 a month and everything is free. I go in looking poor, no brand name stuff. If its cold I go in sweats. I still give a nice donation b/c they give me a years worth of pills with very little hassle.

Yeah..I alwyas lied to. The one time I told the truth and said I made $10 an hour, i got charged a lot, and couldn't afford it, so I went back to saying I was unemployeed. They never ask for proof.....
This was before I was a stripper and really was poor tho....
Wish they had a good family planning out here. I coudl use one right now. I just paid $500 for a whole bunch of tests at the GYN.

Last time I went in Los Angeles I said I made 800 a month (which was the truth since I was only working a crap job part time and attending school) and they never asked for any verification, although at 18 I guess they would assume you aren't making bank.
My tests/pills/everything I've always gotten free, which I'm so thankful for. I wouldn't really be able to get them otherwise. Someday when I'm old and rich I'd like to give them a huge chunk of money so other young girls can keep getting the same help.
Hmmm...I'm torn. It's my nature to lie and get something for free. I mean, I am a stripper. But Planned Parenthood has been one of the hallmarks of reproductive freedom for almost a hundred years. In many areas they are the ONLY place where poor and indigent women can go to receive reproductive health care at an affordable cost. Also, in many places they are the ONLY place where ANY woman can get an abortion if she chooses. So, while I love to get free things as much as any of us, I pay.
I agree with this. I am forever thankful for PP. Suprisingly enough..that was the best care I ever recieved, and the best OBGYN I ever had. I was treated with respect and dignity always. I am grateful that I was with PP when I had cervical dysplasia, as my entire surgery and post op care was 100% covered through the Womens Breast and Cervical cancer fund. I would have never been able to have the surgery otherwise. I lied, but I truly couldn't afford to pay. I was with them since 15, but underage doesn't have to pay anyway. But at 18, I lived on my own, was trying to pay for college, rent, all that stuff, on crappy pay jobs with not enough hours cause I ws in school.
I would definatly make a huge donation to PP when I have extra money and can afford to do so.

Here in Nashville it was actually cheaper to go to the health department and get my BC pills than it was to go to PP. I don't know if it's like that everywhere though.
We don't have a sliding scale at PP where I live, but I recently got an office visit and first months pills for a total of $41. No pelvic exam. But I know the prices fluctuate due to funding and *ahem* politics...I used to pay that much just for the pills alone. It also depends on the brand of pills you get.
And...you guys who are lying...you are the reason it costs so much for the rest of us!!!!
^^^ I wasn't gonna put it like that, but...yeah.
*I am NOT referring to any specific person here* but it bothers me when strippers are all "oh, I'm broke, I can't afford it." You can afford that LV bag, but...as CCR said, "when the taxman comes to the door, Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale."
For the record, I lied before I was a stripper, 18 and on my own, struggling with school and a job, rent and bills, homeless half the time cause I couldn't afford the rent. No way I could pay for a doctor, espicially because I needed surgery.
It's cool---I did it in college. I ain't hatin'.

Here it's $12 for a pack of Yasmin or free for those that qualify.
That's how I feel about it too. And then there are the girls at work who are on the dole as if they don't have jobs. That shit makes me sick. And you are right, they are the ones who have to have Baby Phat, or whatever the trendy brand name is, stitched across the ass of their jeans.
But with PP, as with other healthcare, I think it should be free for everyone. But that won't happen in our lifetimes, if ever. The poor do get Medicaid here in Indiana, which is essentially free healthcare, but it is a fucked up system. I hear about people going to the ER for really minor illnesses instead of a GP just because they know they aren't going to have to pay for it.
And theoretically, I think we should be giving the poor MORE assistance, just in a different way. But when people abuse the system the way they do, it puts those programs in a place where they will never get the funding they need to make the system more effective.
But I digress..........![]()

I too think that birth control should be free for everybody.
Here in Texas, you have to pay full price up front unless you have insurance, but you can apply for the Texas Women's program. I applied when I went in February, when I honestly had no income except a $400 scholarship (I was living off savings due to a tough semester at the time). I am currently owed a percentage of my fee, which came out to about $150 for pelvic exam, pap smear, and STD tests. I have free NuvaRings for a year, which is great because it'll hold me until after I graduate.
