Default Heatwave in much of the nation

I think the number I heard (friend of a friend of a friend) was 125 degrees Farehnheit in Baker, California yesterday or the day before. Baker is near Las Vegas, and the number I heard for LV was 128 Degrees Farehnheit? Can anyone who currently lives in LV verify this? Thanks!

I love the heat but the fire hazards, overheating and water conservation is not fun. Isn't Texas a giant puddle right now? A little hot humid rain would be fun.

I wish it would rain! It's around 100 today in Riverside. It gets so hot that I just don't want to leave my air conditioned house to do anything anymore.

I think Baker was the hottest. It's about an hour from Vegas. The thermometer in my car said 120 when I was stuck in traffic around 1 this afternoon.

I wasn't going to say anything, but being as my house is up for sale...

It is 84 degrees, clear with a light breeze at my home right now.

We'll get down to the 50's tonight and back up into the mid 80's tomorrow.

I have a lovely 2000 sq. ft home in a nice quiet neighborhood. It was built in 2003.

    $280K takes all.

Oh, we don't get very cold in winter, either. We get down into the 40's on average.

    I'm done bragging...

    Whirlerz,
Oregon is about the perfect place to garden. Willamette Valley is famous for the fertile soil.

Its letting up a bit today and yesterday - - - - but lately in San Antonio you have to be a strong swimmer to get anywhere, practically. Thunderstorms all day everyday the past two and a half weeks.

I was in Vegas Friday and Saturday and it was pretty damn hot. I was standing directly in the sun on Saturday and I swear I actually FELT my skin burning. Glad to be home, hehe.

OMG! Total understatement! I live close to the lake, and the water is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO close to coming over the spillway. It's actually puddling up on the spillway with the water coming from the feeder rivers upstream.

Maybe I'll go be like all the other idiots around here and take some pictures...ha! Oh...and drive like 10mph over the dam to look at the totally interesting water...yeah.
