so my most favorite band of all time the smashing pumpkins has reunited and is releasing their new album tomorrow. last month i moved to a different city and was without internet access so there was no way that i knew about the 5+ shows the pumpkins are putting on at the fillmore in san francisco this month. i read that the computer crashed because so many fans were trying to buy tickets. needless to say, all of the shows were sold out once i found out the pumpkins were coming to town.
there's some history to my situation. i lived in missouri for a few years as an adolescent and became friends with a classmate who turned out to be billy corgan's second cousin. i also befriended his family. in 2002 i was able to go with the corgan family to a zwan show and met billy and jimmy chamberlain. awesome! now that i live in california, the family and i are still in contact, but billy changes his email address and phone number constantly and he hasn't given my family friends his current contact information yet. so they haven't been able to help me score tickets.
i asked a dj friend to help me out as well by having him ask a manager at the fillmore to see what he could do. turns out that the manager doesn't work there anymore.
aside from shelling out tons of money for two tickets on ebay, how can i score some tickets?
