    Default Aspartame

I'm just trying to figure out if my boyfriend is trying to scare me or if aspartame really is that bad for you. I usually drink about 2 cans a day of diet soda a day, oh and sugar free redbull (that has aspartame also).

I don't know what else to drink for dinner without adding extra calories, water? sounds so boring.. and what to drink in the morning to wake up? (coffee makes me jittery)

Does anyone else that drinks diet soda feel really groggy and stiff when they wake up in the morning?

in small amounts i strongly doubt you feel bad because of that.

the best use for aspartame is making mentos bombs... if in doubt.... drop one in....

Even in small amounts (can of diet soda) I get headaches and stomach pains from aspartame, and yes, I used to get the stiff feeling as well. I think diet sodas dehydrate you. I am though, really sensitve to chemicals (MSG & the like).

I drink a lot of tea-black tea in the morning (I get the good stuff-PG tips seem to wake me up as well as coffee), herbals (you can make them iced) the rest of the day. Personally I feel that the 16 cals a tsp of sugar I add to my morning tea doesn't make a huge difference, calorie wise. And most herbals don't need sugar. The rest of the time I drink juice.

My addiction is diet soda.... I am a diet coke and diet pepsi fanatic... I don't care how bad it is for you I will keep drinking it lol.... some people drink alcohol like its water... I drink diet soda *chugs her diet coke*

Im weird though.... I prefer diet coke in a can... I wont drink it from a bottle.... and diet pepsi I prefer in a bottle vs a can lol...

This is what you do...you quit whatever it is that has asparteme in it...for 1 month. Up your water intake during that time. During that month you journal how you feel. After that month is up, you reintroduce asparteme to your menu...journal how you feel.

You'll probably find that you have had "side effects" that came on pretty minor and you got used to them. Cut them out for a month and then reintroducing them will get you realizing all of them "bad" things you had that you didn't realize you did.
