    Post Movie theatre etiquette?

When you go to the movies, what are your do and donts? Mine are:

*Allow one seat gap away from me when space permits
*Never rest your feet on the tops of the seats (I absolutely hate people who do this)
*If you sit behind me, don't kick my seat you douche.
*When the movie starts, keep your mouth shut.
*Please refrain from commentary during the movie
*Don't spill your drink on me (happened to me once)
*Don't point your damn laser pointer at the screen

Half the reason I rarely go to the movies anymore is because people around here will NOT STFU!!! They answer their phones and have full conversations(yeah..missed part of Pirates because of this..and it was a guy who looked in his 60's, not a teen). They talk to the movie "girl..dont go in there..damn....Did you see that..why she go up in there...she know the killer in there"..grrrrr

One movie I had to scream at a guy who was TRANSLATING the whole movie for his girl who apparently didnt speak english.

Oh..and dont take your CHILD to the r rated movie. A 4 year old does NOT belong in a midnight showing of Exorsist. And the movie is not nearly as scary when you hear the baby screaming throughout it....

Take in a matinee or a movie on Monday night. Far less people and far less morons who do all of this stuff.

I usually go see a Big Time Movie after its been out for over a week and most of the people who want to see it have been there, saw it, and spilled the popcorn already.

I dont need to see a movie 5 minutes after it's been released.

Don't bring your children. If you do, do not leave them in the seats in front of me, ALONE, for 20 minutes before the show starts. I will call security and inform them that the children were abandoned.

If you bring in your own food, open it during the previews, not the movie. I do not need my movie interrupted by *crinkle, crinkle* sounds.

Do not allow your children to race around the theater. It's ignorant and rude.

Do not shell out for tickets only to snog and moan your way through the movie. I did not pay to watch you clumsily make out.

    DO STFU.

If you know your going to see a popular movie and the theatre will probably be crowded, get your drink, popcorn, take a piss do everythign you need to do BEFORE you find your seat.

It fucking annoys me to know end when a whole entire row of people have to stand up to let 1 person out because he didn't pee beofre he sat down.

I'm so used to being annoyed out of my mind at the theater that I often change seats once or twice. I don't know why, but the worst offenders seem to see me and sit directly in front or behind. My ex used to comment that all the time, it got a little freaky.

If you have to fart try to contain it within the seat cushion. If it can't be then thou shall go outside of theatre.

Get your foot off my seat turd.

Yes, I see matinee's two weeks after it's been out. Very quiet and no losers. I think these are the "pro" movie watching people.

Tuesday nights tend to be pretty dead too (and at some movie places the popcorn is free.)

I will go to midnight showings of movies I expect audience participation to be in though. Sometimes it is just fun to watch something with all the other fans.

If every seat on every row is open cause its a matinee or slow night, don't sit near the only other two people i the theater on purpose. It's so irritating, why do people do this. Also no crying children, or people of any ages that can't just shut up.The seat kicking is alo annoying, especially if they keep doing it so you look back and give them a dirty look to stop it and they act like you are the one who wronged them.

Yeah...my beat time was this kid sitting in the movie and telling his grandmother everything that was going to happen because he's already seen the movie. OMG! STFU!

I'm almost scared to pay to see the new Harry Potter movie because I know it'll be overrun with irritating brats that'll make me want to complain and get my money back.

Oh...cell phones are totally annoying, too.

I am going to kill the next person that sits right in front of me in an empty theatre. There are 200 other seats, why the fuck must you sit right in front of me??

I'll take it a step further. Don't text during the movie. Just because I can't hear you doesn't mean the glowing screen isn't distracting me.

Don't take off your shoes in a movie theater. Especially the guys.

ha, i avoid all of these things by regularly attending what I feel to be one of the best inventions ever: The Alamo Drafthouse!
It is a movie theater for serious film and food and beer lovers. 18+ only. Huge beer, wine, champagne list. Great food! Salads, pizzas, sandwiches, pasta, appetizers.
The theaters are smaller than the ginormous cineplexes around, but they have a normal row of movie theater seats, then a row of tall narrow tables, then the next row of seats. This eliminates anyone being able to kick your chair or block your view. There are menus placed every other seat. To order you just write what you want on a provided piece of paper/pencil and raise it in the little slot on the table. Waiter comes right over, because there is space between your table and the next row of seats. This helps if you need to go to the bathroom too, you never have to disturb anyone!

It's seriously the best thing to happen to movies ever. I wonder if they have them or similar ones outside of texas?

Ha and no i don't have any stake in this company or anything, i just praise it for saving my film experience!

    How's about:

Don't throw anything. Not at me. Not at your buddie. Not at the person you think stole your bf/gf in the third row there. Don't throw stuff.

No calisthenics. If you need to fidget/bounce around that much, try a gym.

If I don't know you, sit more than a seat away from me unless the theater is so crowded that those are the only seats left.

If you have to pass through my row in front of me, don't just stop and stand there in front of me while you figure out whatever you forgot.

Talking to the screen won't help. Not only are the actors not actually on the screen, they filmed the scene over six months ago. Heck, they already know there's something behind the door by now.

When the movie's over, and you're walking toward the doors, if you really have to stop and figure out where you left your drink, please step a little to the side so that the rest of us can go while you figure it out.

It's okay to talk to your friends about the movie when you get to the bathroom on the way out--just don't talk about the scenes. "That was really cool" or "Wow, that sucked" is just fine.
