    Default remedies for fever/chills/flu?

So...I've got this thing that feels like fever and chills mixed with a flu (nausea, sore throat and swollen glands, puking everything I eat, body aching...) The only thing that I've found that helps even somewhat is standing in a scalding hot shower until my water runs out or until I start blacking out. But then as soon as I get out I feel like SHIT again.

Anyone have any ideas for things I can do or take that would help? I feel like death, seriously don't remember that last time I've ever felt THIS bad. And I've already missed three days of work, and of course they were the three best money-making days of the week for me usually.

Any suggestions, no matter how strange or gross, fuck it, I'll try it!

Can you soak in a tub instead of showering? I believe the hot water lowers your fever a bit, which is why you feel better. A tub soak w/ epsom salts will help the aches some and is supposed to help draw out illness as well.

My other cures tend to be ones you take (olive leaf extract, collodial silver, homeopathic tablets, hot water w/ lemon & honey for the throat or ginger & honey for the belly) so that might not be an option if you're getting sick a lot.

If it continues though, or if you've got a spotty throat, call the doctor, because my bf's brother had a similar thing and it was strep! Feel better hon.

Ginger can help with the nausea. You can get candied ginger root at the grocery store. It's strong, but many find it to be a useful and natural remedy. Also, if you have ground ginger root (easily obtained wherever spices are found), add a teaspoon to some hot water, let it dissolve, and add honey or sugar if you want. It's a bit more potent than ginger ale.
