    Call Me Stpuid for this...

okay, so I got myself all dolled up with an at-home stripping stage, and well, I'm trying out my twirls and spins around the pole, not too bad, but how do you spin around without ripping the skin of your fucking inner thighs????? Oh my God! Nothing more attractive than huge BURN marks and missing skin inside your thighs!! WTF?? How do I prevent this? I know how, I ain't going back on!! hahaha nah, I need to get really good at this so I can make some money.
    Thanks ya'll!!

I think I read on here somewhere that you're skin will just have to get used to it....

I don't use my inner thighs to spin. Try learning some spins that just use arm strength while your legs are open or something.

Yeah I'm fucked, I don't have any upper body strength!!! I guess I'm stuck with the bar for a while longer eh? hahahah. Yeah my work sucks! I'm going to try that though, and build my upper body up enough to spin that way.
    Thanks! I'm out now!
I gotta work tomorrow, fucking stupid place!! I HATE IT!! But I"ll get out soon!!

You could try the spin that you do using the pack of your knee. Hold on with your right hand and use your right knee to kind of spin around (or left), if that makes sense.

you could use (SPARINGLY) baby powder rubbed on your inner thighs....a lot of the reason you stick to the pole (and rip skin off) is due to moisture....after all, this is why gymnasts chalk our hands up for uneven bars (but we STILL get rips, nothing solves all problems)....give it a shot

Yeah, I should do that, I used to use chalk for the bars for grip so I never thought of it for no grip Yes, hand rips are killer! I knew this one girl who litterally ripped her palm off. They used duct tape to put it back on and hold it until the comp was over. Ick!

*shudders*.....sounds ridiculously painful.....but yeah, a touch of powder might help.....hell, I didn't even use grips in practice....but looooots of chalk!

You should still try some moves where you hold on with your hands and not your legs. I don't have any upper body strength either, but I just learned an easy trick the other day for the first time. My arms hurt now, but that way atleast you'll build upper body strength while you're learning. Just a thought!

is it a stainless steel or brass pole?
because if it is not, and more like the home depot special, then the roughness of the metal will always give you 'pole burn.' I learned this the hard way, and now I refuse to do any tricks on an unpolished pole/ street sign because i know it will happen.

Man I don't wanna sleep with you! You're clutching your thighs together too tight!

You're gripping too hard with your legs. Loosen up and trust your arm(s) to support you. Sounds like your pole might be too sticky too; try cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and see if that makes it more slippery. But definitely loosen up the legs. You don't need to use your thighs at all for spins, so they shouldn't be gripping the pole.

hahaha you're funny lillith!! Damn right I 've got grip! I'm not called the VICE for nothing!! hahaha The suggestions are great. I had no idea I was gripping the pole that hard! It's a finished, polished, black pole, 100% steel, but, black. It's not the conduit a lot of people use, cuz yes, that would hurt!! I think what I'm going to get next for my basement is a chin up bar, then I'll be able to rely more on my upper body than legs.
You've all been very helpful with this! I'm going to have to go to the forum of tricks to figure out more things!

I am a guy but before you scream at me for posting here, let me say that corn starch might do the trick. It always seemed to do the trick with any rashes resulting from friction and would even do the trick once the rash occurred.

I am learning to spin in new ways and I'm not hurting as much anymore! YAY! And I won't scream at you for being a boy Bem, it's not your fault, I don't blame you. haha. And it's nice to know how fast your body can adapt to pole dancing!
