Has anyone danced in Iceland? I heard there's good money from oil guys, but I'm otherwise clueless...

Don't you mean Greenland?
There was this thread - havent read it so I dont know if its useful
There may have been another one also a while ago. I seem to recall Iceland being mentioned a few times.
I'm obssessed with Greenland after staring at it so many times flying from Europe over to US in the winter. It looks amazing, simply astonoshing. But w a population of 54K, do you think there are even clubs?

Money?!?! Forget it!
There were every evening about 15-18 girls, of these girls 1 or 2 make money each evening because there is 1 or 2 good custumers. To make money is means € 100-300 in those VERY good evening when you are lucky. The other evenings you can have some tip or some small champagne!
I went home with €1100 for 10 days! And you must pay about 10 euro every day to live in the club house. Iceland is so expensive that you can not even imagine how much! To buy a stupid big mac menu you spend more than €15 (in the rest of Europe is about 5).
There are a lot of girls from East of europe because it's easy for them for the documents as Iceland is not EU and it works differently. Anyway maybe for them is good money because in their country 1000 is the salary that a normal person earn in MANY months, but for me 1000 euro I can make in 2 days in US or 4 days in EU where living is cheaper!
In Iceland the weather is also very depressing, I was reading that in Scandinavia there are the most suicides because of depression and well I love Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark)... but go to Iceland and you will understand how people can get depressed... the sky is always WHITE, not blue, not light blu, not grey... always WHITE colorless! In august on the most beautiful day there were 14°C wich is also depressing. Every block there is a video renting shop, because the only thing wich icelandic people do is watching DVDs! In the capital there are TOTAL 5 bar 1 disco and 2 stripclubs! Icelandic people are not friendly at all, they like only their own people and they hardly reply you if you ask them something!
Aaaaw, I've always wanted to go, in the summer, hoping everyone would be happy and dancing around all Bjork-like. Ok, ok, bad stereotype, hehe.

Dancing in Iceland right now is really really bad. 30 girls every night per about 2-3 custies. It killed me at the time.
Im making buckloads more here in Florida at a bad club then I ever did in Iceland.
I suggest not.

I'm thinking of just dancing in the US and going to Iceland as a trip. My great great grandmother came from Iceland, and I'm pretty sure I've got other Icelandic ancestors, so I've been long interested in going.
i've never danced in iceland, but i have been there for 3 months. i got back to the us in february 2008.
my boyfriends icelandic, and i have been to the clubs, so if any of you ladies have any questions about the country or anything, i might be able to be of assistance..
i go back and forth between the us and iceland.. i can't move there until im 24 due to fucked up marriage laws..
but it's my final destination :o)
Totally agree with Angela!
I wrote it also in some other post...
maybe if you are European you think that $ is low compared to € ... but you still make more money in US.
In Us I dance 5-6 nights a week making 500-600 per night averange... (I give myself the goal of $3000 minimum per week)... I choose the days when I want to work, I choose the time when I want to start or leave, I don't have to drink champagne and people tip very good on stage... in Europe it's quite impossible to make that ammount because all clubs where I've been they tell you when you can work (normally 3-4 days only), you have to arrive and leave when they tell you, you MUST drink champagne because that's make the biggest part of your money and people try to touch all the time and don't tip that much on stage....
Iceland is a nice country, you can go there for holidays and dance to pay your holiday... but don't think to make money there.
