Default [email protected] Work = Money = Bag (long)

Right where do I start...... (hope this is in the right place)

I can hustle blood out of a stone when I'm tipsy/drunk at work. I find it so much easier to deal with the bs guys feed me and their ego's tc. (The club i work, pretty much 96% of the custies r arrogant bastards!)

so buy necking a few glasses of wine I can overcome their arrogance, let mine shine through (lol) be very very cheeky and bank....big style. The last three weeks I've been doing so well for it.

Ok I suppose there are downfalls. If i drink every shift in order to make money - I'm drinking 5/6 nights a week, heavily not good for my body.

Well msking things worse...I'v been put on a drinking ban. The boss totally understand I make him shit loads when I drink but has decided to put me on a ban. Now I'm absolutely mortified cause I cannot deal with peoples crap sober - no way.

Im not an alcoholic, I just like the relaxation and xtra confidance it gives me.

How do I work now on a drinking ban? With wanker men who dont appreciate anything. Or do I move clubs and start afresh - without drinking and relearn how to hustle - only sober?

So stressed out (but kind of secretly happy, can now get my body back on track)

I dont think there is anything wrong with one or two drinks every few hours at work, it can really take the edge off. But i only work 2 nights per week compared with your 5-6 nights.

    What are u drinking?

I have read some research saying a couple of wines a night can be good for your heart.

Maybe change clubs and try to just drink a couple rather than drinking too much.

Also maybe u could try to find that inner confidence in yourself that the alcohol provides.

I do understand tho, I only drink 2 champagnes per nnight but it does help.

Is drinking that much really worth your health in the long run? All that money will go to rehab, therapy and so forth. I completely understand having a drink to relax. I'm sure it takes more than 1 drink a night for you to get tipsy or drunk.

If you have to be tipsy or drunk every single shift to make money that doesn't fare well for your future in stripping. If you make money at this club then stick with it. Just work it sober. It should be simple to work sober. You are the only person who gives you confidence.

edit: Why were you put on a drinking ban?

Ahh I know all about this- I feel your pain.

If you don't make any money at all sober then you should try another club. Maybe a change of scenery will work.

Perhaps try cutting back on your drinking little by little? I've had to do this and it works fine for me. I used to drink a couple shots 2x a week on the most busy club nights (fri/sat) but the rest of the week I toughed it out sober. I just had to force myself to get out there and do what I had to do.

I'm impressed you work all week and drink alot! For me to work all week I could never drink all week. I feel way too run down. Maybe you eat alot better than I do anyway.

The ban can be a plus also, now you have to learn some new methods. I know some women turn on the 'stripper persona' at work even though that isn't their personality. I've tried that personally but it hasn't worked for me. Maybe you can pull it off.

If you are really that wound up about it, just buy a flask and have a drink in the car before you walk in. That way you can still have your crutch while obeying the rules at work. You may find that you no longer need a bunch of drinks to get the job done.

    Good Luck.

Can you channel your 'drunkenness'? I find that sometimes 'acting' drunk is just as good...not slurring and stumbling...but a little silly and cheeky can be done by just getting 'in the spirit'. Remember previous nights where you felt in control. What did you do/say/ etc that you normally don't when sober? And you can tell the staff to pretend to give you drinks in case you are afraid that customers will see you ordering only 'soda water'. You'll find yourself staying more in control when you can pretend but also look out for clues someone is worth the effort of hustling. I can act 'fake drunk' or 'fake e-tard'..lol...Practice with friends a few times..even if someone gets that you're faking, sometimes it amuses them so much they keep spending just to see how good you are at 'pretending'.

I make more money when i act tipsy, too. I haven't had a drink in almost 3 years, but just acting like i am drinking is enough for me.

i would be interested to know why you were put on a drinking ban, though, because it might mean people are worried about you, for good reason...especially since you say you can't handle it sober...just my humble opinion though.

You basically have to treat dancing as a JOB. You don't get what you want in life, you get what you expect. That said, you KNOW the type of personality many of the customers in your club exhibit, so you SHOULD have practiced your response at home.

You have to have a selling pitch and a strategy to use when working. People working in any sales job have a standard sales pitch they use with customers, right?

Being tipsy you potentially LOSE more money too. Guys want you to drink so they can make you more vulnerable to them. Another form of male control. Successful dancers know how to maintain control over the customers, and you can't do that being high and drunk.

So, just know what to expect from many of your customers and react to it. It doesn't take drugs and alcohol to do that. Don't let the guys sex talk and goofy questions bother you. Just talk the same way to them that they talk to you. Have specific selling lines down pat that you will use when trying to make your dance sales. Learn how to play the naive adoring female who can give them eye contact, a smile, and rub on their leg and arm like they are the man and letting them know you are buying into their bullshit. That is called building rapport. Once you have that , go for the sale. If they are total bullshit, on to the next guy.

You don't need to be impaired to do this. Just understand you job, treat this like a job, realize that drinking makes you weak, and make sure you have control in the club. Every sip of a drink in a club gives the customers more control over you, and costs you money.

    Very well said, Tina.

And may I say that if your drinking is bad enough to get you put on an alcohol ban, you're drinking too much.

If you were put on a drinking ban, you most likely did something that is unprofessional or embarassing to the club. Girls on drinking bans at my club are the ones who fight and scream at others when drunk or fall over repeatedly. While you might make a lot of money, it could be because the men see you are inebriated and are hoping to take advantage of that. Even if they're not taking advantage, it may be part of the reason you're making the money. It makes the club look bad that they let the dancers get that drunk.

I would say to suck it up, try your hardest for 2 weeks, and then ask to be allowed to drink again. Drink to the point of being tipsy but not drunk, and then cut yourself off. You'll still have the attitude but not the drunkenness.

There are a couple of girls known at my club for drinking way to much at work.

Also they can be dangerous to the other girls. There was a girl who used to get so drunk that she would hurt other girls on the stage. She jumped on my back once and slammed me into a pole. It really hurt my back. She just used to get way too wasted.

Oh YAY you're SO LUCKY to have not gotten a DUI! The person you could've killed instead was so lucky you didn't HIT THEM. If you made so much money as you claim, you can afford a cab.

Probably. I was just upset that her biggest worry was her DUI, not the people she could've hurt.

    thankd for all the replies.

my ban came about because of some stupid new rules at the club. our house fee system/commission etc is the highest in the country! and i get tipped, veryl highly, from which the club takles 20%, plus £40 for the house, and 25% of the actual dance fee. and i still make lots when im drunk. because of this, all us girls brought it to the bosses attention how ridiculously high the fees were, - so four of us got put on the drinking ban and the rest fined! purely because we all voiced an opinion together, united (for once lol) and he probably felt overpowered. meh who knows?

it could well be that guys see me as vulnerable so try and spend more to get more. see i dont get totally wasted drunk, i couod never walk in striiper shoes let alone dance that smashed. i get tipsy to the point i am sooooo cheeky that its my selling point - im quirky and have an answer for everything plus tolerance.

im going to a new club tonight, just having ONE drink and seeing how I go. rather than be tipsy, il try and have the relaxtion of one, but knowledge of complete control.

its something i wanna give up anyway as its bad for my body, i just had a massive fear of my money being negat8vely affected - as all of my best banking nights have been the ones where iv had a coupla wines!!

i dont think i have an alcohol problem/addiction - i dont wake up in the morning gagging for one. but on the same note it could be the start of one, if i cant even hit the floor at work without a pre work wine or two.

will inform you all of how tonight goes,

thank you for all your words.

    x

Good luck with the new club! Changing your environment can be the best option because you still have all of your skills but you aren't dependent on the same factors to use them.

Personally I find that while a couple of drinks can be nice, if I get drunk then I just get tired if I'm in between customers and don't have the energy to hustle anymore (I mean, thinking about the right thing to say, etc, takes so much time and mental effort...) Which is why I absolutely kick myself on those nights when I get a great customer at the beginning of the night who occupies me for a couple of hours when I'm on my game... I'm working on not getting so tipsy because after that guy leaves and has given me a chunk of cash, I'll just get lazy for the rest of the night. Ugh!

When I first started dancing I would always drink at work. Then I started only working 5 hour shifts so I didn't have enough time to drink, get drunk, and sober up before the end of the shift. At first it was tough to work sober, but you'll get used to it.

I do notice that I make more money when I'm good and tipsy. I think it's because I am more relaxed and in the "lets party" mode .

I find it extremely hard to be sober at work. I feel it gives me more "personality". I laugh more and have a better time as well. I always have something witty to say. I make alot of money when im tipsy and am all smiles and happy--- i also put on a few unwelcome lbs to bc of the drinking--but on the other hand, when i drink too much and i dont make money, i get very upset and emotional. Im actually considering trying to go stone cold sober tonight. Wish me luck...

i *used* to think i did better when i drank at work. lately ive noticed, though, since i havent been drinking, that i definately work harder and make more. i knew this, though.. in the past, i used to *always* drink at work and the one night i didnt, i made money when all the othre girls were complaining that they made nothing. i definately am much more lazy when i drink, or i'm worried about getting another drink before i worry about making money.

Put my name under the 'tipsy' list. I'm more animated (I'm naturally too laid back for my own good) and have a more lively personality. I don't find that I get lazy when I drink thank goodness. A few times I had too much and ended up wasted, but I've cut that out now.
