    Default Back pain & periods

I've had back pain for years because my back is too long (a stupidly long space between my ribcage and hip bones...if I were a horse, I would pass me over for bad conformation), and I bashed it riding, wrestling, and trying to be an amateur gymnast in my teens (bad idea).

I can keep it under control with yoga usually, but sometimes it gets fiercely painful a couple days before my period. I'm not familiar with period pain killers...I need to go to the States to stock up on naproxen, but in the meantime I don't know what to use. This seems advil resistant, and yoga resistant. It hurts to even drive my car.

Are hormones responsible? Is it just the cramping that does this? Does switching birth control pills help? My periods are also really long these last few months (anywhere between 7-17 days...which my doctor didn't think was problematic, but I think it's unnecessary). I don't know enough about BCP, but I need to stay on it because of PCOS. Any websites out there to break this stuff down? Thanks

Have you trying Asprin? It works for me. Just remember to eat something with it.

I have had back pain with my period for years. i don't get low abdominal cramps, I just feel like my lower back is almost breaking on day one and two of my period. OW OW OW OW. My mom has told me that she had this too, and had back labor, so I guess it might be hormonal and familial.

The best pain reliever I've found is ibuprofen. I take 600 to 800 mg a few times a day and it takes the edge off.
