    Signs of Burnout?

I know they're probably different for everyone... But, the thought of going into work hasn't gotten me excited in months... Actually, it even depresses me sometimes. But, I go in anyways because sitting around at home on my ass and not making money doesn't make me happy either. I dont' know if this is because of burnout or other stuff in my life (nothing specific... I think I need a hobby or something).

I only work three days a week.

I always know I'm burnt out when even the THOUGHT of going in makes me feel sick to my stomach.
And when even an easy $1000 night doesnt cheer me up...thats when I know I need a break...

I understand the concept of burnout as I work 6 days a week generally. I feel there is burnout in any job, and dancing is a job.

A lot of the problem I think is the fact that business is hit and miss nowadays, dancers outnumber customers, or outnumber dance buying customers quite often.

So we go to work and sit around, because the club is not busy enough much of the time to constantly be working the floor.

I make bookings for 38 weeks of the year and I am committed to those bookings, so I only call in sick when I really can't make it through. If I don't work those full weeks 38 weeks of the year, my money will be short on the 14 weeks I have off.

You could try looking at this just as you do working at a desk job from 8-5 Monday-Friday. You don't put in all your days, and your paycheck is short. If your paycheck is short, your spending money is short or, if you miss too many days you become short on your bills.

Bella, do you write down your after tip out earnings nightly and keep weekly and monthly totals? That should keep you focused and structured.

How many people at paycheck jobs are excited about going in to work every day, but do it anyway? No very many. But no work = no house, car, money.

I understand that some clubs are sooo flooded with girls that the environment is discouraging. In those clubs the risk of leaving with little money or less than you paid to work can be stressful. You really only can assess the club(s) you work in and see which ones have the best energy for you.

A hobby or some activities outside of work are always good.

    Crap... Apparently, I am fucked.

I think I live well below my means... which is good for my savings account... and bad for motivation to go into work. The thought of missing out on money is mainly what gets me in there. (Like, I could have $500 or... I could sit on my ass and watch TV all day.) I'm just having a hard time figuring out if I REALLY need a bit of a vacation or not. It's not like I have friends who could go with me... they all have them normal jobs. I had the idea to go camping by myself for a couple of days... which was shot down by many (male) people who said that I'd get myself killed if I went alone. Ugh.

For me, burnout is when I'm already AT work, and I feel rage. Seriously. I just want to hit the next man that says the wrong thing. At one point, I actually flipped off a customer who really didn't deserve it. Which... yeah... I could have gotten fired for, had a manager been looking. I was feeling, at one point, that no man was worth approaching for any amount of money in the world. I was sick of cheap guys, rude guys, of expending any energy at all in the mere hopes of money. It wasn't about the money anymore. I wasn't ready anymore to expend ANY amount of energy NO MATTER the return in $$$$$. That's literally when I gave myself a week's vacation and told myself to not worry about the money.

OTOH, Tina has an excellent point. Since I've made a monthly income goal, I've been really good about going into work regularly. And not only that, I still take the days off that I need when my body gets too sore or my immune system gets shot, but I actually make up those missed days ... because I know that I gotta meet that monthly goal to make my desired yearly salary.
