I seem to be having a problem with my deodorant working for me. I had this problem before years ago and switched to Mitchum and now Mitchum isn't working either. I sweat a lot when I get nervous or upset. Any suggestions?

Isn't there a laser treatment available that stops excessive sweating?
If everything you try is a sure thing, you aren't taking enough risks. If you never fail, you put a limit on the degree to which you can succeed. In short, the only way to win big is to risk losing

Botox in the pits helps with mucho sweating.

Yeah, I would love botox but can't afford it right now.![]()
Just try another brand. It's normal for people to adjust to a particular brand after a few years of use. I like Dove.
^I use that. I, like you, sweat often and especially when I'm nervous!! I had to switch from brand to brand while I was a teenager until I came across this Adidas brand. I l-o-v-e it. It works most of the time (especially when I apply it before I go to bed) except for when I'm exercising heavily or extremely nervous before an interview or something. I'm going to try other brands though soon. Let me know if you try something else and if it works or not! I'd like to know.![]()
Ewwww. Botox. I've never understood that.
This will sound weird. But have you ever seen a chiropractor? Sweating when you're nervous is natural, but if it's excessive, it could be the result of your brain communicating information to the incorrect portion of your body.
It sounds weird, but think about it. Your spinal column is the communication center for your body. All the nerves run through it, sending messages from your brain to your fingers, sweat glands, etc. If your spine is messed up, then the messages are either re-routed to the wrong recipient, or not routed at all.
I"m on a maintenance plan with my chiropractor, which keeps me aligned (especially after a day in 8 inch heels!), and then I do yoga to keep my body limber.
Something to think about. We abuse our bodies so much, and then we try to mask the problem with everything from pills to ...
Certain Dri. This will stop your sweating completely. It is so strong you have to put it on before you go to sleep, and definitely not after you shave or you can get very irritated. I think this is the closest thing to a prescription. Another similar antiperspirant is Secret Clinical, I believe. Check out the reviews on www.makeupalley.com
"B Drier" I love it. DON'T use it after you shave- It WILL sting.

I use an all natural roll-on deodorant that I get at Walmart. It's supposed to last 24 hrs, but since I tend to smell easily, I apply it several times a day. It's the only kind that works for me and it feels good knowing it has no aluminum.
I use Certain Dri and it really works. Irritates my armpits like mad, though, so I can only use it a couple days in a row and then a couple times a week. Luckily, that's actually enough.
I use Drysol which you have to ask the Pharmacist about but they'll sell it to you without a perscription. I used to sweat really bad in the winter when it was cold out and wearing big sweaters (weird huh?) but you put it on before bed once a day for a week and then after that once a week. I don't sweat out of my armpits anymore. Probably really bad for you but I'm so much happier now not worrying about pit stains!

I wish Certain-Dri didnt make my armpits itch like crazy lol!!!!
Even with not shaving or showering just prior to using it..oh well
I know... but it works, for like a few days even! I think your skin eventually builds up tolerance to the irritation? I hope. Still worth it. Mitchum stopped working for me as well.I wish Certain-Dri didnt make my armpits itch like crazy lol!!!!

Try changing the soap you use. I use this PH balance soap. It helps keep my ph Balance. Which help keep me from sweating so much!

I tried Certain Dri but it had too many rules for me lol. Like don't use after shaving, use only on clean dry skin, blah blah blah. It works if you have time to use it correctly. I've tried everything under the sun and Sure works the best for me.
I used Lady Mitchum for a while and it stopped working for me too. Teen Spirit works for me now, I thinks its strong 'cause its made for hormonal teenagers. It's also got great scents, but its a solid so you have to watch for white marks.

I will chime in with the certaindri recommendation...it's totally incredible, but right now I'm using Perspirex, which is the same basic idea, I think it might be a bit stronger, and it works amazingly. Also, electrolysis to the underarm area is supposed to aid in hyperhydrosis (sp?) and it may not be as pricy as laser or botox (but then, I don't know the going rates for either)

Drysol. Its Rx and it stops you from sweating. I use it. It burns a bit when you put it on but the shit works.
And Drysol is cheap ! Ask your doc for it.
I rotate deodorants all the time just for this reason. I feel like if I stick with one for too long it "breaks through".
