So, most of body (back and buttocks) acne has cleared up but I have scars remaining. Any way to promote new skin growth or for the scars to heal more?

Try using epiquin micro on the spots only, twice a day.It has 4% hydroquinone (sp?) way higher than any drug store scar treatment so you need a perscription. Its about $100 a tube but it lightens scars in as little as 2 to 3 weeks.I used it but stopped after the creme started turning brown. Then i read a book that my derm wrote and it mentioned palmers skin success fade creme. It only has 2% hydroquinone so its really cheap.Less than 10 bucks.I used it and in two weeks i noticed a difference. Then my derm told me i can still use the epiquin even if its brown.Funny thing is that i like the cheap drug stor creme better.Just make sure you apply it only to the marks and use sunscreen. The sun makes any mark darker.hope this helps
I go to the tanning bed. Since the tanning bed makes my skin and the scars darker after my tan fades will the scars still remain dark and not fade like the rest of my body? If I purchase the cream then I would just put sunscreen on top of that? The tanning bed has helped the acne itself clear up, do you think the sunscreen being that it has oils in it would make me break out again? What if I put benzol peroxide on them, that will fade the skin and keep it from breaking out? Of course it would make my skin peel some too, what do you think about that?

very complicated.tanning and scars do not mix.tanning will only make any scar on your body darker, and i dont think the tan on the scar fades the way the rest of your skin does.i dont think you should put suncreen only on the marks while tanning because then your color might turn out uneven.the problem is that any sun will undo all the work that the hydroquinone does. That's why sunscreen is important.Your going to have to stop tanning if your going to use hydroquinone.Try using a self-tanner.If you must tan then try using a product with glycolic acid instead. This acid works well to exfoliate the skin and lighten dark marks and areas.A good product is alpha hydrox http://www.neotericcosmetics.com/pro...ls.aspx?iid=67 Its cheap and has enough glycolic acid to actually work.
Just out of curiosity, what sort of treatment did you use to stop your body acne breakouts? Ugh, I've tried everything!!! THanks!

I use neutrogena acne wash twice a day.my derm also perscribed me clindamycin 1% which i use once a day, usually in the morning. At night i treat my scars.
I tryed the head and shoulders for about three weeks, no luck. I use the neutrogena acne body wash for my back, it keeps things pretty clear but the scars are still there.

yeah thats what happened to me.the wash cleared my back and chest but left the marks.thats why you have to work on the scars now.do the hydroquinone creme if you are going to stop tanning or the glycolic acid method if you still want to tan.both cremes work pretty good.
