    Default Conjunctivits make-up issue

I had conjunctivits recently (EWWW) and then of course reinfected myself with my make-up. I've thrown out my mascara and eyeliners now, but I have a few MAC limited edition colours that I just can not replace.

Does anyone know if there is a "safe period" that I can leave the eyeshadows. Will the bactiria die if I leave them for a week? A month? Or should I just say goodbye to some really fantastic irresplacable colours for good.

I wouldn't trust the makeup anymore. As long as there is moisture in the makeup, the bacteria can live. Throw it out, suck it up, and find another fabulous line.

Good luck. I hate when they discontinue stuff. When Clinique discontinued eyeliner, I bought so much of it my bf thought about renting a storage space to hold it.

If it's pressed shadow, you can wipe the top with alcohol. Not the best thing to do to makeup, but I've done it, and the makeup is fine.
I used to get cronic pink eye, and it woudl be to expensive to throw out makeup every 2 months or so..so I would just disinfect everything with alcohol.

Last time I got it, my doctor said it was fine to keep the shadows, but throw out all the liner, brushes, eyelashes, eyelash glue, and mascara. You can scrape off the top layer of the shadow, too. I still have a few shadows that I had used right before I got my last pink eye, and I scraped off the top layer and I've used them since without problems.

Mascara wands and brushes can be easly sanitized.
The lashes and glue I would throw out.
Liners can be sharpened down, or you can light the tip to sanatize them.
