Default Suggestions for make-up/clothes for a dark club(Long)

OK, I did a search on this and came up with little things, but not a lot of information.

This is my situation: Throughout my career I have danced mostly topless or bikini in pretty bright bars/clubs. The colors that I have worn on stage have not really been an issue and my make-up has been on the natural side w/ slightly exotic eyes and clear golden lip gloss.

I am going to check out a new club next week. I'm hired, but haven't danced yet. This place is DARK!! Also, I hung out the other night to tip the dancers and get a feel for the vibe of the club. I noticed that I may be one of the smallest dancers there! I'm not saying the thinnest (almost) but just small over all! I am so afraid I will get lost Most of the dancers there are super thick and curvy

The one thing I have that seems to be different is a head full of long, loose blondish/light brown curls. If they are behaving well, they look shiny, soft and bouncy....but if I don't get it right, it looks frizzy and dready

I guess I am asking for suggestions on make-up and costume colors. This is a bikini bar so most of my clothes will be on.

I'm thinking lighter colors or brights. I don't really like thigh high stockings because I'm so short I feel they cut my legs off. I guess I should start sporting false lashes?

Those black lights sometimes don't work in favor of some dancers. I wanted to get a dance from a girl who had short blond hair. I thought she was a Latina with blond hair. (Not a bad thing). I then talked to her and she showed me where the restroom was and under the brighter lights it turned out she had gorgeous blue eyes, looked way younger, and was so much prettier than she looked under the black lights.

I getting off my subject, but make-up and costume color suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Where are you going to be working?

I agree you're probably too short for thigh highs. They don't look all that wonderful on me and you're even shorter than I am. If you do want to wear them, a garter belt elongates the legs by drawing the eye up to the hips and you'd probably look really good with that look.

You'd probably be the tiniest girl in any club, LOL! But you'll stand out and attract more attention with a lot of bright colors. Rock your look. You're hot! (Oh, and I love your hair.)

I wear white when I want to stand out. Makeup, I think you need to wear a bit more when it's super dark.

My club is pretty dark, especially in the lap dance areas. I always wear lots more blush than I would in different light. I didn't used to until I caught myself in the mirror one day looking pale and drawn from lack of cheek color. I think false eyelashes are also a good idea. Don't make the mistake of getting too dramatic with the make-up though. I've seen girls looking like clowns out there in an attempt to counter-act the dark lighting.

I'd say also to play up your curls. You'll stand out and also they'll add volume to your petite figure. I would stay away from straightening it or anything since it'll just make you more diminutive.

LR is right, white outfits are the way to go. I try to avoid black, and if I wear it, I use accesories that are lighter. Or I layer brighter pieces with the black pieces.

Hmm, also, my roommate who is also a dancer is really short and petite, by far the smallest girl in the club. Guys love it as its a change of pace from the mainly taller and curvier girls. So see how it goes. I think its usually an advantage to have something that's different than the other girls. Do the girls at the club wear normal platform stripper shoes? If so, definitely wear them too though... playing up the adorable smallness is great, but don't go too small.

The club I was at was dark too. I'm a pale blonde and it was hard to keep from disappearing in the shadow. I wore a lot of white clothes, sparkly rhinestone jewelry and hair clips and that looked really pretty. As for makeup, I wore darker, dusky rose blush and found I could get away with more contouring makeup (cleavage, inner thighs, lower stomach). I also used glossier lipstick and creamy eyeshadows to work with what light was there.

I got tons of compliments from male and female customers about how 'fresh' and 'natural' I looked compared to the girls who went with heavier, dark makeup. My money also improved when I switched to the dusky rose blush. I think I looked healthier and not as tired/washed out than with my daytime light pink.

    Pheno and Lily-

Thanks for the tips. I like the idea of going w/curls because it's so much less work

And I ALWAYS wear platforms from 5 in. to 71/2 in.

I also really don't like dark make-up. On me, I mean. I like the idea of contouring.

    Thanks for the ideas.
