Default Switching from stationary to spinning pole

is hard! I spin myself, so when the pole is spinning its a little difficult. I use it as my center of gravity, so when your gravity is spinning its uhm hard... any tips?

You'll get used to it! I love the spinning club at my pole! Lean away to spin slower, pull in to spin faster. You'll get used to it soon. Just take it slow and don't let go.

You just need to cut down some of your own momentum. Ohter than that you'll just get used to it.

I try to avoid the spinning pole where I work. But, it's cool to watch those who can pull it off!

If you find yourself spinning too fast while you're getting used to it, extend your legs to give a bit of "drag". I've been using a spinning pole for several years and every now and then I still get going a bit faster than I meant to. Sticking my legs out helps slow down my spin when I get overzealous.

I don't like them, they make me way to dizzy, but they look cool.

My advice would be just to take it really slow and overly cautious until you get used to it. Use basically no momentum at all and then gradually increase, it's easier that way. Just try to play it cool and controlled rather than overly cautious and the custies won't even notice.

I have a fixed pole and sometime when I see what awesome moves are done on the spinning version and it makes me want one. I too worry about getting dizzy or even hurt. It seems like some stuff would be way easier to do while other tricks would be harder to control so I feel for you, Kalligirl. Once you figure it out I hope you post back here your own tips on how to switch from one kind to the other.
