Default Hall of Shame: Menstrual Disasters at Work

Lets hear them. Menstrual mishaps, period problems, and bloody bungles... If you've been dancing long enough, it's probably happened to you. After time passes, it's actually funny. Sorry if this has been done before, but I don't recall seeing a thread like this.

Happened to me twice. Once while doing a lap dance... right under a fucking spot light.

And then on Friday night. I even ran off stage to do a tampon check and ran right back on at the beginning of my first song... and after the third song, I walked back to the dressing room butt naked and a girl said to me, "Hey, do you know you have blood on your boots?" Damn, did I overflow. There was blood smeared and dripping between my thighs, and sure enough, spatters on my bright pink boots. Thank God only one person tipped me a dollar, and the other girl on my set got all the tips. I was pissed at first, but in hind sight, I'll take the dollar and save the embarrassment!!

I've been dancing for three years and have never had a menstrual mishap. I guess it's because I'm on the pill, so I always know when my periods are coming and they're not very heavy when they do come.

before i knew to cut the tampon string short, i once danced onstage with a tampon string obviously hanging out. other dancers had to "tip" me to let me know what was going on.

I started my period on stage in white panties once. I only noticed when a female customer pointed and laughed. :/

Ummm...I left a blood streak on a customers khakis once and he was too drunk to notice, and I was too embarrased to say anything. I finished my dances and got paid. He went home with an interesting story for the next morning. (egads!)

Oh...he actually came back and got VIPs with me again! I never mentioned the khakis!

a customer was getting up to go for dances with me and i told him to sit back down while i went to change into a special outfit just for him.

at the time, if i worked while on my period, i had to change tampons hourly. miss by five minutes and bam!

so blood was running down my legs into my boots and my socks.

i walked back very fast, cleaned up and changed into a different outfit and did my dances. he didn't even know anything untoward had happened.

another time i was about 10-15 minutes off my hourly change-out and it started onstage and i had to call over a dancer sitting with a custy from stage to get the dj to cut my song short so i could run to the bathroom. that dj was cool and had good taste in booze and a hot gf who worked there. but those things are digressions...

I've had close calls but no overflowage.

Once I had a dream tho that I was doing stage work and rubbing blood all over me. It was very sensual.

I can't believe I haven't had an actual period mishap in my 15 years of dancing. (Probably due for one, where's some wood when ya need it?) But you're putting yourself out there, so here's at least one that's pretty darn close:

About 2 weeks ago, I was on stage doing floorwork and caught my 2nd toenail in a crevice. I knew it bent back, and hurt like hell, but I just kept smiling and dancing through it. A few minutes later I was on the bar stage and noticed what I thought was a pool of red "syrup". "Hey A, I think someone spilled some grenadine or something." A says "Oh yeah, I'll clean that right up, thanx for telling me." Then I made it to the final stage, and whatdya know, more syrup. It was blood from my toe. My toenail was gone... I motioned a shotgirl over and she handed me a napkin soaked in Windex to clean up my bloody mess. When I went to the dressing room and told the housemom, she informed me that the DJ and managers had been calling around and talking on their earpieces trying to figure out who had started their period on stage. I was mortified.

Several years ago, a girl I carpooled with dripped on a guy's white shirt during a vip session. He left, changed his shirt, and came back for more. Lol

At the last club, I went on stage with a tampon wrapper stuck to the bottom of my shoe twice in one night. (neither wrapper was mine) The same guy pulled off both wrappers. What a sweetie.

Never actually at work, although I'm always paranoid about it. Although I have bled over guys I was having recreational sex with. That was pretty embarrassing, but really, what can you do at that point than shrug, apologize and treat as though it is a normal part of being a woman? (Which, after all...) I mean, there is no point in weeping with humiliation except to make it more awkward for everyone.

I have never had a menstrual mishap...*knock on wood* I have VERY accurate cycles and I always wear a tiny tampon at work a couple days before I start just to make sure nothing happens! But dear lord have I seen my fair share of bloody encounters...bleh.

Once time... A really freaky looking older lady started working and it was her first night...we all thought she was a bit odd in her appearance and her dancing looked like a mix between a seizure and flashdance so we watched intently. Well she wore those larger, older style thongs...straight up T-back looking things. She was doing her thang on stage and took her thongs off....no one was tipping her so she kept seizing around the stage. When she gets done and the next girl goes up she calls the MC over and then just stands there...waiting. He comes back with the mop and starts mopping the stage. At the end of her set we go question her in the back about the whole "mopping incident". She told us there was blood all over the stage and didnt know if it was from freaky old lady or someone else. Well not wanting freaky old lady to embarrass herself more by not knowing she had started we went and said something to her. And what did she tell us? That YES she was on her period and that she was wearing those "thong pads" and it hadnt occured to her that she had to take off her underwear...so she just danced around bleeding all over our stage! AAAHHH!!! GROSSS...

    ^^^ Oh God!

One of my nightmares is getting my period on a guy in vip & him getting really pissed about it. For this reason I never work the first 3 days of my period, EVER. (First day for cramps, 2nd & 3rd day for heavy flow.) Unfortunately, aunt flow has been showing up on Fridays for about 6 months now so I have to take off an entire weekend, but I'm way too paranoid to work during the first 3 days.

    Not me, but a story:

It's big money-making hour (after we stop serving alcohol but before we close) and my friend comes into the dressing frantically. I just leaked on this guy! she tells me. She is wearing a white t-back and it has turned somewhat orange. So she changes her tampon but doesn't change her thong because she is wearing a garter set and doesn't want to waste time!

Dude thong pads r a fucking joke!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure they are NEVER to be used at a sc, making them for only personal use...

That being said...do you HAVE to wear a thong?? They always crinkle and whatnot and never stay in place, and about an inch long--if you are that light, wear some black thongs, drip two drops, wash, etc...

I wouldn't care if I started bleeding onstage. Shit, we deal with their boners. They should be able to deal with our blood every blue moon or so.

^^^You know, I kind of feel the same way. In fact, I'm pretty sure I have started bleeding on stage at one point or another, but I don't remember the specifics. I don't know, my threshold for humiliation is pretty high. I've become inured to life's little embarassments just by being me... I kind of have to to get through the day.

Wow, that's really awful of the guy to do. Seriously, get some Era plus. If you want a nude/nude-ish girl to rub her bits on you, schmutz will happen.

You know he's the guy who picks up leaves that fell from a neighbor's tree onto HIS lawn and complains to municipal folks.

Anyway, to stay on topic, somehow I've managed not to bleed on anyone, but I'm pretty parnoid about it and spend too much time checking.

Well, girls, I read this thread before I went to work last night, sighing with relief to myself that nothing like this had ever happened to me. I guess I should have knocked on wood. I've been tucking my tampon string up for almost 10 months of dancing and never had a problem. Well, tonight as I bent over and seductivelly removed my panties, the string tumbled out. Holy fuck was it embarrasing. I sorta felt something down there but didn't look down, and continued dancing. Luckily there was only one customer at my stage... but he did have to stop me and tell me what had happened. I almost cried. He was nice about it, saying "its ok honey, I've had girlfriends, it part of life," etc., but I was stilll mortified.

I think I'll be cutting the string from now on.

I too have bled on a guy once. I was sitting on his lap. I got up to do a little dance for him. Well, I looked down and there it was. A little circle of blood. Of course he was wearing khaki's! I don't think he noticed. But, I high tailed it outta there as fast as I could.

I bled on a guy one...twice...same guy, same night. I was sorta tipsy, and also in a podunk bar out of town, so I didn't care. I laughed about it a bit with my friend...he didn't notice because he was tipsy too...and then called me back for more dances, and I guess I probably bled on him some more. Tee Hee. Totally not really on purpose, just lazy rookie-ness.

OMG I would be so embarassed. You had to face him and management for being on your period.

I am knocking on wood hoping that this doesn't happen to me!
