    Default Home exercise machines

So, I am searching internet ads for a cardio machine to put in front of the TV. Most likely a treadmill because they seem to be the most reasonably priced and I'm picky about the movement of elliptical machines...

Does anybody have one that they really like? Or one that you dislike because its too heavy/loud/not wide enough/whatever?

Otherwise I'd like to get a nordictrack. I love those things.

    Thank you!

I got mine really cheap on ebay($75). I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's smaller and simple(kind of considered one of the bottom of the line)..but does the job for me. Its a Weslo Cadence. I'm on it almost every day. It has a digital display that tells you how far you've gone, how fast, how long you've been on and how many calories and how much fat you've burned. It has a 3 position incline(and boy howdy that incline makes a differance)
Its not especially quiet...I have to turn the TV up to hear it, but that wasnt a huge concern for me.
It was fairly light(I can move it by myself) and it folds up when not in use.

I have a Gazelle (the one with the hydraulic resistance) and looooooove it.
I've dropped 20lbs so far. It folds flat too which is nice.

I have not had any problems with my NordicTrack , I have an eliptical and a tredmil ( funny I can't use either until I get my leg back lol ) . I also bought a recumbent bike from the link below . The nordics I bought at Sears so you could actually go there and get on one and see how you like it .

The bike I bought from them got stuck in Phoenix but I eventually got one to my home , wasn't really ther fault but I think they should of sent me a replacement earlier .The prices were the best .

Few years back I bought a StairMaster, it was about $2800 but it was money well spent, after 7 years I still use it, sometimes I get bored going to the gym so I just get on it , turn my tv on and 45 mins go by fast, and I'm sweaty and my ass hurts, I love that feeling.
I bought other cheap equipment but everything ended up in the garage and later I gave it away but my SM is staying, it really works your butt off and it takes up a small space in the corner of my guest bedroom.

If you go to www.stairmaster.com it takes you to another site and click on StairMaster® Product Information, there you can see the different types.

I have the StairMaster 4400PT, maybe you can look for them on ebay or in used exercise equipment stores, a used one should be under $1000.

I have a treatmill - ProForm brand, that I got from Sears for about $600. I like it, it works VERY well (good inclines, easy to press buttons, smooth transition, etc) but it's very heavy and bulky and a bit loud. I've heard really good things about the Gazelle and I've been thinking about buying that recently, Just to change things up a bit.

I have one, too. They're great if you don't have a place to put it because they fold up pretty easy (I have a little bit of trouble with it, but I have chicken arms), and they're very low impact on the knees (great for someone with a prior knee injury). They aren't really expensive either. I have the one without the hydraulic settings, and I paid $99 for it, but you might want to go with a more expensive one for a better workout (I can't have the resistance because of my knee issues).

    I spent $1600 on a bowflex.
I dont recommed it. Its huge, its a pain in the ass to stop and change the tension rods for each exercise. Its ALWAYS in the way (doesnt fold up flat). The seat would probably work well for sex though.... humm...

A good ellyptical, with moving arm poles, is what I have in my basement (along with a punching bag, incline bench ("Total Gym") and a few hand weights. I think I got the ellypical for about $450 off of Amazon. It's quite sturdy. However, as I've posted before, I prefer using the equipment at LA Fitness because of the vibe and visual distractions, which are motivating for me.

That sucks. I have a bowflex copy(bought for $300 at sears and made by the same company that makes Bowflex so it is identical)
I love it. Mine folds up when not in use(though I keep it down since I use it almost every day)
Changng the rods is no big deal..you dont have to disconnect them or anything, just move them on or off the main section til you have the weight resistance you want.
I get a great workout between this, freeweights, stability ball, treadmill, heavy bag and stripper pole(yes, my house is a freakin gym!)

I have knee problems too which is why I wanted something low impact. So far so good it's never bothered my knees yet. Mine's got the hydraulic resistance too... I bought it on Amazon and paid $110 for it, free shipping!
