Eh, I'm still going to buy it. I just couldn't resist knowing before everyone else. I don't think JK Rowling is exactly starving, with her being richer than the Queen of England and all.
oh, I'm totally a slytherin.... just playing devils advocate
but I promised my best friend not to read anything before it's outso I'm really just jealous!

I'm using every bit of willpower NOT to download it...I clicked on a spoiler link a couple weeks back and kicked myself as soon as I did.
I didn't like what I saw...AT ALL.![]()
Yah. Some things ya just gotta buy!
And coming from me....wow.....
People are not ruled by their memories.

I only read the first thing, and it scared me SO bad that I clicked back before I could read anything else. It sounds stupid, but it makes me sort of scared/nervous to read the book!!
That's all I'm gonna say!![]()
i realy hate the whole download thing this is someones art you enjoy it deserves to be paid for.
Most people who are downloading the book are die hard fans who are definitely going to buy it, too. I only read the last 2 chapters because I can't wait to know what happens. A large portion of the text is illegible.
The download is not about STEALING the book, follow that logic and lending a book to somone else or reading someone else's copy would be stealing. Most people who download it just CAN'T FUCKING WAIT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS![]()
I'd becareful about doing that considering people are getting busted for downloading music without paying for it.
There's a block on my computer so that I can't download... does anyone know if it's posted someplace? Or if they have scans of the pages somewhere?

just please make sure anyone who sees it SHUTS THEIR MOUTH!

^ YES, please! I'm trying soooooooooo hard to keep from looking at anything, and I'd hate to have it spoiled after I've done so good all this time!

*hides under desk in fear of spoilers* I guess its time for me to batten down the hatches with this thing floating around on the web. No more internets for me this week...well except for Subeta (like neopets, but more adult). See you guys when I finish the book on Saturday (or Sunday if I decide to sleep at all this weekend).
I'd be suspicious that it's real. JK Rowling actually... you know, cares about this, and she really sits on her material (remember during the security crackdown on British planes? They wanted to take her bag with her manuscript? She said she would sail home rather than let them have it?). She has been freaking out on ebay for years, and maybe none of you know what happened last book? A bookseller accidentally shelved Book 6 a week before the date, and sold 8 copies before it was caught (when you think about - someone found out pretty damn fast). Her lawyers tracked down the 8 consumers and got an injunction prohibiting them from talking about it and made them give the books back. She promised them signed copies on the release date and stuff - she was nice about it, but she isn't fucking around. She also keeps pretty aware of artificial downloads and stuff.

I agree with Jenny. It seems pretty damned unlikely. And I pray that whatever's out there for download is a huge, elaborately crafted rainbow of lies. 'Cause that would be hysterical.
Downloader: "Wasn't it great when Dumbledore returns from the grave as a vampire - with a soul, though - and turns Harry into one too?"
Legitimately Purchased Book Reader: "Um, that . . . never . . . uh, yeah. It was great." (Continues enjoying real ending.)
"Before I conceived you, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would die for you. This is the miracle of life." -- Maureen Hawkins
"I just can't get over how much babies cry. I really had no idea what I was getting into. To tell you the truth, I thought it would be more like getting a cat." -- Anne Lamott

Well...it had to either be close or the real thing...due to the fact that it has now been removed due to copywrite complaints!!
I have mine coming!! I cant wait!![]()

I took a look at it, and showed Twin, who works at a book store. We think it's legit. Everything that should be there looks spot on.

Marasmus ... "Ladies don't fart. They butt-laugh."
Marasmus says, "Oh no, that wasn't gas, it was merely a rectal chuckle."
Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."

I dont see the distinction. If you buy it later, how can it be thievery? the only difference is that you just happen to have a copy *NOW*.....not to mention that you dont even know if its even real and wont know until you buy an official print of it.
Therefore, no harm, no foul. Its like buying music and ripping it to you computer so you can have it on your ipod. Same thing with converting Audiobooks from CD to the ipod - much more compact to just carry the pod rather than a disc and a disc player.
No distinction there, this book thing is the same...just the other way around
I think that is a bit extreme - I see no reason to have had to have an injunction - its no different as if I still wanted to read it after it was already out, I just didnt get around to buying it yet and hear people talking about it. No matter what time frame, Id still tell them STOP I HAVENT READ IT YET, or just have left the immediate area
