Default Buying the next Harry Potter book!

So, I am a relatively new Harry Potter fan, and only very recently have gotten fanatical about it. The last book that came out, I just bought it after it had been out for a week or two.

Well thats not good enough now! I NEED to have the book Saturday morning 12:01 am. But I'm not sure hwo th emidnight sellings work.

Do I have to reserve it first, or can I just show up at midnight and wait in line?

I went and asked a few of the local bookstores, but they were unsure (damn high school kids who work in afternoons!)

    How does it typically work?

It depends on where you go. Last time my friend and I went to a huge party at a local book store, and we had our book vouchers a couple of months before the release. We were going to do the same this time until we found out they were doing a raffle for the front spots in the line, and I didn't want to wait for hours in the heat to not get to be at the front again.

We're just going to make a midnight trip up to the local Wal-Mart, and being that this is a small town I'm sure we'll have no problems getting a copy. Plus, the books at Wal-Mart (or on Amazon and similar sites) are selling for about half of what the local bookstores are selling them for (yay for price wars). The book is supposed to cost something around $40, but I'm getting both of our books (my friend's book, too, that is) for about the same price ($40 for both). Oh, no vouchers required with them!

I preordered mine too. I'm out of town, but the book will be waiting on me when I get home!
