    Default Boots!

I find it really hard to climb the pole wearing regular stripper shoes.. the ones I have are just the normal slip on type with the clear over the top of the foot, and I also have a pair with an ankle strap and a slim band over the top of the foot, so my feet get really banged up trying to climb the pole. I want to buy a pair of boots so I have more versatility in my dancer wardrobe, and also so I can learn to climb the pole without being in extreme pain, I hear they're easier to climb with because they have more grip and protect your feet.

Any recommendations on boots? I want to stay away from the gothic dark look, as I already have pale skin and dark hair and too much black/pleather makes me look like Elvira. I don't like the chunky heel look, slim or spike is much better... I haven't had any luck finding any that fit this... any advice??

There is a brand in Canada(out of Vancouver) called Scallies... they're a slim look with a spike heel, no platform and super comfy.... Alena Downs sells them.. they are a bit pricey but they are really worth it.

Since you want to avoid the goth look completely I'd get some pvc material with a spiked heel in a pastel or bright color. The pvc, which is the patent leather looking kind, are great for vertical pole climbs but beware they make reverse slides off the pole tricky.

I'd stay away from pleather anyways (I think snaz.75 calls it "PU"). I got some awhile back and it was simply impossible to climb the pole in those things. They were all slippery.

yeah the clear boots won't stick to the pole either.
patent boots DO help you climb the pole, but i think it's more of a crutch.

you may be better in your pole work if you learned how barefoot (as a baseline) and then with the clear shoes (makes it harder).

It does bang up your feet for a while, but after some time your body adjusts. I used to always have a nasty raised bruise on the top of my right foot, but not anymore!

If you need extra help, I recommend moisturizing your legs and top of your feet an hour before you get on the pole. Healthy moisturized skin sticks better than dry!

DO NOT moisturise before going on stage!! Not even an hour early! Your skin will be slippery and everything on stage will be icky.

A small drop of shaving gel will give you grip or put rubbing alcohol on a baby wipe and it will help your skin grip enough.

Also its not your legs/feet that help you climb, its upper body strength. You need to learn to climb properly then you will be able to climb no matter what your wearing(I can do pole work now in pants after learning to do it properly).

Check out Alena Downs, shes really a one stop stripper shop, she will help you with everything you need from boots to pole lessons.

^^^ Maybe it depends on what you are using to moisturize and how you are naturally. For me, my leg skin is very dry, and does not stick worth a crap to the pole in their natural state. If I moisturize as soon as I get out of the shower (usually an hour before I go to work), however, I stick like pasta on a wall, not slippery. I use just unscented aveeno or something like that. Regardless, I still wipe the pole down for the next girl after my set.

I don't see anywhere on her site to buy boots. Did I just miss it or something?

Snaz75 has PLENTY of non-gothic like boots in many colors.

Its not on her site, you have to contact her. Her site is mainly for her pole dancing....She may not even be still selling them. I know at one point she had picked up some and was selling them to girls. Shes not a major distributer.. its mostly just when she has them. Sorry I should have been clear lol.

Pretty much though the Scallies boots are like the pleaser boots but have a rounded toe and some minor other details... I prefer the Scallies for serious stage work. The only thing that sucks about them is they're stretch PVC and will rip.
