Default What do you make on an average shift?

I'm a new dancer, been at it about a month now. I mostly work dayshift. From the little I've heard from some of the other girls, I'm not making as much as them.

I know I'm still getting used to things, and working on my hustle, and I do know my area is a financially depressed one (Flint, MI -- egads!!)

But I've been feeling really low and like I'm doing a bad job because I average about $200 per day shift.

I just wanted to know what you guys are making on average per shift, and whereabouts you live. This might help me out and have some realistic expectations (or get a good idea of where to move!!) Thanks guys!!

you can find a ton of threads about "what we make" if you use the search feature.

i will tell you though, that making 200 per day shift, as a new dancer, in the dead of summer, is generally fantastic.

For dayshift at alot of clubs, $200 is about average. Don't feel too bad, once you get regulars at your club you'll probably start making more.

    adding that,

here in tampa, where the market is super saturated (lots of clubs lots of dancers) new girls on day shifts are (in general) lucky to walk with more than 100. i'd say most of them average about 70 bucks a shift. shit, even fantastic dancers who've been doing this awhile have had really horrid shifts lately (self included). lots and lots of our usual "top earning" girls are making 100 per shift average right now (nights included).

course, that's because most clubs in our area (i went to a few recently as a customer) are having trouble with customer/dancer ratio. like.. 3 dancers for every customer at night even.

Sorry for missing those other threads... I search for "money" "average" and "what you make" and didn't see anything... sorry to be redundant!!!

It depends. Where u are, how many girls, how many guys are there, how good of a hustle you have. There's sooo many factors that go into how much money we make. One night u could make a grand. The next, 50 bucks. It just varies.

Comparing what you make to everyone else won't help you feel better at all.
Your a new dancer, on dayshift, in MI.
I'm a seasoned stripper, on night shift, in Las Vegas.
I coudl tell you my averages, but what would it help? We are worlds apart. There would be no comparison.

Hell..I could even compare myself to other seasoned strippers in Las Vegas, on night shift. One any given night, there would be stripeprs leaving in the negative, strippers leaving with $100, strippers leaving with $500, $1000, $3000

What woudl it help for me to even compare myself to a stripper at my club, on my shift? My point is...if your not happy with what you make, change it. If yrou happy, weatehr it be $50 a shift, or $200, if yoru happy, and it's enough money, that's all that matters.
If yrou nto happy with whatyou make, re evaluate your club and yrou hustle, while takign into account that it is the slow season, and money is generally just not as good right now.

IMO, one of the first lessons you should master when you're new in the business is not to ask other strippers about how much they make. Not averages, not nightly stats, nada. And don't share that info with anyone else.

Don't listen to what the other dancers at your club say they make because it's likely they are being 100% honest about it anyway.

The real question you need to ask yourself is are you making enough for you to justify working there as compared to what you could be make in a different job. If the answer is yes then you are making enough. If the answer is no then you are not and should consider something else. That something else could be as simple as a new shift or club. Or it could be more dramatic like a different job.

Do you write down what you make every night? I do that, that way I know what MY average is. Every girl has her own average based on her experience, shift she works, and hustling style. And even then, it's up and down. Once you figure out YOUR average, you will have your OWN gauge for what a good day is and a bad day is. Then it is also easier to budget. Lets say you average $200 a day. Sometimes you'll make 140, sometimes 225, or whatever. Well... you know that in general, if you work four days a week making an average $200 that you will pull $3,600 a month. That ain't bad, kid. Not at all.

And for your sanity, keep this in mind: A lot of girls blow the amazing money you think they make on drugs, boyfriends, $200 purses and overall needless junk. Save your money and dance with a smirk inside that you are saving what you make and making it work for you.

I occasionally talk numbers with a close friend at work, but other than her I don't talk about what I make. And the only reason I talk to her about it is that she and I seem to run about the same and we are both comfortable comparing those numbers.

    All the other girls said it, I'll just reinforce it;

Don't talk about what you make at work, it will cause drama and insecurity

Don't pay attention to what other girls make at work, chances are it's a fluffed up number, and will cause drama and insecurity.

Make what YOU need to make, and be happy with that. A girl who has very few bills or expenses doesn't need to make as much as a girl who has car payment, mortgage, kids, etc... Base it on your own needs and be happy with that.

Comparing your earnings to another girl's is a pointless waste of time.

I NEVER talk about it. They always hound me about how much, how much, how much... and I never tell. It's nobody's damn business how much I make.

besides, there are other variables even still, like how long a shift is. One girls shift might be 3 hours and another's might be 8. So I think a more useful benchmark would be hourly, but then you vary with what hours day vs night etc.

But IMHO, 200 for a dayshift in your area sounds pretty good.

As a prospective stripper, I like hearing the averages.. It allows me to weigh my options and where I want to live when I graduate (the nearest crappy club to me is an hour and a half drive and I have night classes, not the best scenario to start now).

OTOH, this question has been asked but the OP also apologized already.

I'll also admit it... I do like hearing about how much you girls make... It either motivates me to make more or it makes me feel good about myself.

To the OP, $200 with no regulars on a day shit when you're new is a great sign that you're on the road to making even more.

I would not even bother with day shift. I just dont think it would be profitable enough.

eh, i work mostly days (by choice) and i make about the same average as a night girl in most of the clubs i've worked at.

course, it takes awhile at each club to get to that average, since money on dayshift is based on regulars. both shifts have their ups and downs. i will say though, that for the most part, the most -amazing- shifts i've had ... were all when i worked a night.

course, in most of those cases i worked a night because i knew it would be busy (an event or etc)
