    Default Nausea

OMG, help me please. I have never felt like this in my life.

Any sugestings to make nausea go away? I'm not puking, just hanging over the toilet, but nothing will come out. ohh...this sucks soo bad.

I'm not sure if I'm getting my byfriend flu or if it's morniong sickness...I'm only 5weeks today. Isn't it kinda early for MS?

    But I don't feel flu-ish.

Ugh. I dont know, but it needs to stop. This is miserable

Nope, it's the perfect time for morning sickness. And don't be fooled by the terminology - it can strike at any time of day, or last all day long for weeks and weeks. Ah, the miracle of life!

Ginger is your best bet, it's great for nausea. Sip cold ginger ale, nibble ginger snaps, or make ginger tea. I actually made iced ginger tea the other day and it was delicious - just slice off some ginger slivers, steep in boiling water for 15-20 minutes, then stir well and remove the ginger slices before pouring over ice. This is excellent and it would be great for soothing your tummy.

Saltines are also supposed to be good, but I wouldn't know because I can't keep them down. The salt itself makes me sick (I HATE salt). Avoid dairy and fatty meat; eat things like pasta and veggies.

You prolly have MS. It is most common during the first 3 months of pregnancy, but sometimes it will continue throughout the pregnancy. After your first trimerster is over, you should be feeling a LOT better.

Ginger sounds good. When I was pregnant I'd just take it easy and nibble on saltines or Ritz crackers. And sip water. Hang in there, you'll feel better soon.

Agreed regarding the ginger. You can also buy candied ginger root (covered in sugar, found in many grocery stores), or ginger candy. In this form, you can suck on it and let it dissolve in your mouth, which might be easier if you are having a hard time keeping things down. Hope you feel better.

I did a bit of research online but nux vomica is good. I've taken it before. I few little white balls of it and I feel better instantly. I believe its ok to take for mommas too. I got mine at a local health food store.

my MS started on week 6 on the dot.... sounds like that's what it could be to me.

i found ginger to be a complete farce. i was the sickest i've ever been. the only things that helped were:

    1. never letting my stomach getting empty, whether it's dry crackers, fruit, nut bars whatever.... i was eating every 45 minutes or so. also plenty of water if you can get it down. (i drank plain soda water only for about 4 weeks because the flat stuff made me hurl)

    2. acupuncture.

i was still 100% nauseated during all waking hours and hurled every other day (until i got acupuncture) for 10 weeks. glamour glamour glamour!!

did you do a test? did i miss the thread?

^^^Yeah, the saltines are good and the ginger ale calmed my tummy down. Definitely worth a shot. Also, keep your stress to a minimum.

I always kept plain animal crackers by my bed or saltines. Before getting up I ate a few and drank ginger ale.

It always helped. Although certain smells would trigger the hurls. Oh and dry toast helps too.

I didn't start morning sickness until 6 weeks and I had it so badly that my doctor prescribed Diclectin just so I could function. Dry toast and ginger ale is your best friend and remember, it WILL pass. I'm at 14 weeks and now the only thing that makes me want to throw up is the thought of drinking ginger ale. I guess I wore myself out on it, ha ha.

eating as soon as i wake up is the only thing that will keep me from hurling. Gingerale with lime is also really helpful.
