    Default Tommy Rockers Las Vegas

Me and the boy went in and checked out this place the other night. It's a bar turned strip club.
It sucked. Granted, it was a tuesday night, it had a decent crowd, but all the guys were sitting around the stage, watchign a free show, not one guy sat at the stage and tipped.
A lot of people were at the bar playign video poker. IMO, if they wanted to turn this place into a SC, they shoudl have removed the poker machines.

We saw about 5 girls, ranging from not hot to mediocre. Saw 1 girl who looked pretty good, nice body, brand new and very akward on stage, also just acted very bored on stage.

The energy there sucked. It was so boring, all the girls looked bored sock, and noone hustled. At all. Many tables of guys, a few tables actualyl had money sitting out on the table. I saw 1 table that had a stack of $20's sitting out, yet no girls ever stopped to talk. I also saw 1 table with bottle service, they were there when we walked in, with no girls with them. Abut 15 minutes later, a few girls finalyl went over and sat down. Needless to say, no girls even gave us a second glance, let alone came over. They all seemd completly lazy and nonhustle. I coudl tell the newbies from the more experienced dancers, but none even tried to talk to any of the guys, and I saw several potential customers. No lapdances went ont he entire time we were there, but we peeked into VIP and saw 1 or 2 girls giving dances back there.

Overall....It was the low energy that really killed it for us. The lazy strippers, their boring faces, boring stage shows( the stay in one spot for 3 songs and sway yrou hips while yawning)

Yuck. I didnt have high hopes at all for this place, and I was right. It sucks.

It's not a bad looking club, small, friendly comfy place, but feels unwelcoming because of the dancers.

DJ announced "friendliest strippers in town" and my boy and I laughed and wondered if the dj realized what he had implied. We searched and searched and saw no cameras. Wondered if it was because it was such a small club it woudl be hard to get away with anythign? Maybe they onyl have cameras in VIP? Maybe they just don't care?

Anyway.....We'll try again on a weekend, but I'm not impressed.

    I'm curious...

Has , or is, this club doing any form of advertising? Is the sign outdoors the exact same as before... or does it mention the addition of dancers now?

I'm wondering if guys are basically walking into what they expect to be a regular bar before discovering a few half naked ladies on a pole .... LOL
This definitely would NOT guarentee the appropiate and/or best clientele for the girls to profit from... LOL

I wanted to take some time to address your post. I guess an introduction would be the best way to start.. My name is Frank and I am the General Manager at Tommy Rocker’s and felt it was important to address your post. First of all I wanted to apologize that you didn’t have a better time at the club and not make excuses, but just clarify a couple of things and please excuse my long winded post.
Tommy Rocker’s has been around town for 18 years, locally owned and operated. Tommy himself is a very active member in the community by performing at his bar and raising money for many charities including his Rock n Roll Golf Classic which has raised over $100,000 for VH1’s Save the Music Foundation, which goes directly to purchasing musical instruments for students here in Clark County.
Tommy Rocker’s Gentlemen’s Club, Las Vegas came about partially as a result of the recent smoking ban in Las Vegas. I guess you have to have met Tommy to understand the nature of this new venture. We are attempting to break the mold of the big and pretentious stereotypical Las Vegas strip club by creating more of a “local bar feel”, along with gaming, great food and a friendly staff. As you know, by being a local here in Vegas many clubs in town are very unfriendly to the entertainers and staff. We wanted to change this by creating a fun, no pressure and cozy environment for our entertainers, staff and most of important of all, you the customer.
We opened the newest version of our club 4 weeks ago with little or no hoopla and until last week NO advertising. We have chosen to take the high road, in my opinion, by not recruiting entertainers from other clubs, thus maintaining a good relationship with the other clubs in the community. By doing this we have suffered a slow building process of our entertainment staff, but the one’s we have hired are attractive and above all friendly (not dirty, but friendly).
I was at the club on Tuesday night and we did have a “decent crowd” as you stated, to which as the manager, I was thrilled. Unfortunately, this was a double edged sword, as a new club I didn’t have enough girls to keep the customer’s happy. We actually had 10 girls that night (a record high J) and I’m sure as you know, it’s hard enough to keep a stage rotation with 3 times that amount of entertainers. Never the less, we did the best we could with what we had. As an entertainer yourself, I’m sure you have worked at a club where you had to go on stage more than once an hour and it get’s tiring. So as far as the girls looking bored, I have to cut them some slack for being troopers and hanging in there for so many stages per night.
As for the video poker machines, I guess it’s a matter of opinion, but bars such as Tommy’s are established for the sole reason of being able to have the them. It’s a very hard license to obtain and as you can probably guess, even harder to obtain paired with a cabaret license.
I hope you do take a chance and come back and see us and please ask for me and I’ll try and make your visit more enjoyable. So, in closing, if you’re looking for that big, boisterous club where every girl is walking around asking “want a dance, want a dance, want a dance?” and the staff only cares about you as a customer if you are buying bottles and tipping $100 bills. Then Tommy Rocker’s is not for you. On the other hand if you want a place where you can chill, eat some good food, have a couple of drinks and still have the option of getting a lapdance, then give us a try.

Not to be an ass, I wish your club the best of luck, but if you don't have enough girls to satisfy the crowd, the girls shouldn't look bored, they should be busy!
But I saw girls sitting at the bar, talking to each other while custemers sat alone, with money out on the table!
Sorry, but that isn't friendly, low hustle girls, that's lazy. Caus unless your paying a base salary, which im sure your not, girl wont make any money unless hey actuall talk to customers. I'm nt saying they gotta do the wannadance routine, which wouldnt work at such a small club anyway, but they can still talk to customers.

djprimetime, (Wait, why the screenname "dj" if you're the manager? Anyway...) As with any new club (which technically yours is because of it now being a strip club) it's rough going the first couple of months at the least. It's hard to get girls and to get girls that are in a good mood because of the rough start. It sounds like the club has potential, there are a couple of "locals" type clubs in town (although in my opinion not enough) and at least one to my knowledge that has gaming and does well. I love the low-key environment it reminds me of the best Ca clubs!

On the other hand, I would be hesitant to try and do things too differently from the standard practice of the industry out here. The biggest problem that some new clubs have faced out here in Vegas is when they try to "reinvent" the business. It works the way it does for a reason (sometimes unfortunately for some) and there have been a number of clubs that have failed because they try to do things "their way".

I wish you luck and will have to bring the hubby along for a visit soon!

(maybe you could tip off your DJ at the multiple meaning behind "friendliest strippers" lol! )

Well, dj, don't hold back on promoting your club. Don't make the mistake Men's Club has made! You want to promote and build momentum and awareness of your spot otherwise the cabbies will continue to steer customers to the usual spots. Once the big conventions come you want to already have that network in place. Also don't overlook tie ins wiith Cali, Seattle, Utah spots that are like minded.

Don't think of it as a level playing field and don't overestimate how much locals will spend. I found that breaking into that market is hard because guys are afraid to go roaming a block or two off the strip. In their defense, the streets are quite long, it's VERY HOT, and the streets can be intimidating because they're built to a large scale but without large buildings to put them in context. You may not know this but locals are pretty tight with a buck and are generally loathe coming near the Strip unless they work there so that's a fairly small demographic to rely on. Were I you, I wouldn't hesitate to promote with like minded businesses locally and regionally to pull more dudes in. I hope it works because I LOOOVE the kind of bar you're describing and have happily worked them for years. GOOD LUCK!
