When posting a reply to a thread, how the heck to I quote parts from different responses all in one reply?

not sure if there's simpler way (i believe there's supposed to be but i don't think it's working) but i "quote" the first post i want to quote from, then "copy" it, go to the 2nd post and "quote" it, paste the 1st quote onto it, and repeat as necessary.
then i just edit out the unwanted parts before i start typing in my master post reply.
i think the "quote" button is supposed to allow you to "tag" multiple posts to reply to and then edit them in your post but i don't think that function is working properly. it works that way in a few other forums i'm in though.

^Nope. I don't have it. I can click on it, but nothing pops up.Also, while we're at it, how do I take someone's quote and put it in my siggy?

nothing should pop up. you click the mquote button for each one you want quoted, then hit reply.
When I use it I have to click the "quote" function on my last post I choose, otherwise it doesn't take me to the reply box. Try that.
If you want to put quotes in a siggy I believe you can just put
QUOTE] ...text here... /QUOTE]
around it. Except I left out the begining brackets [ so it wouldn't actually quote anything. Those go in front of each.

YAY! I know how to multi-quote now!..........

woo hoo, me too!![]()
i don't think it was working a few months back though. i tried it then and it wouldn't grab the other flagged posts. only the one i clicked the "reply" to. mebbe they fixed it in the recent overhaul.
whatevah. it workys now!![]()

Same here, snoopy! My mood wasn't working either, and now it is!I'm still confused on the siggy thing, though.

yeah, i just discovered yesterday the mood works again!![]()
as for the sig, could you "quote" the original post, then just go to the edit sig page, and copy&paste onto it?
btw, you're straining the very limits of my geek-knowledge at this point.![]()
pitiful, ain't it?![]()
If I'm doing more than just a casual reply, I compose in Notepad, and then copy it in when I'm ready. I can just see it better that way, plus it's not lost if the site freezes up.

Click "Quote" on someones reply you wish to use. Highlight with your mouse, right click, and select copy. The go to the top of the page and click on "my settings, select "edit signature". This brings you to the "edit signature" page. Paste in the grey box just like it was a thread. select "save signature" and your done. If I am really serious about quoting people I may have two or more browser windows open.
Cheers

^Mine doesn't let me copy anything straight from the reply box.![]()

Nothing happens when I click multiquote either.

It won't work for me either.
