Default getting boob job and I have a couple of quick questions

Questions on the boob job --- I'm definitely not flat chested, I'm actually a C cup and I'm getting implants and a mastopexy to "lift" the breasts rather than a breast lift. So I am assuming this will hurt a little less because I have "fat" already in the breasts, as opposed to a large amount of skin being pulled to put the implant in.

    So my questions are:

How long before the swelling goes down, and also, what do I wear to work (not the club - I have another job in a professional setting) as far as bras and tops???

What can I do to minimize the swelling right away so that it is not so obvious when I walk into the office?

How long before they are soft and natural looking?

I'm also getting rhinoplasty the same day.

Ehm, I'm confused. Mastopexy is just the medical term for a breast lift, not a specific name for a certain type of breastlift. There's different types of breast lifts though so maybe you're getting a donut lift rather than a full anchor lift for example?

You'll probably be wearing your post-op bras (sports bras often) or go braless depending on the PS's instructions. You'll want a button/zip-up shirt and if you're braless, possibly some nipple shields so you won't have the headlights on.

Ice works for minimizing swelling but you could maybe consider starting to wear loose clothing and possibly even padding your chest beforehand so your coworkers will get used to it. Then obviously wear the same kind of loose-fitting clothing to hide the swelling once it's done.

How long depends on whether you're getting the implant under or over muscle. For overs it's only a month or two most often, for unders it'll usually be 4-12 months. The scars can take even longer to fade to totally unnoticeable.

I would seriously think twice about resorting to a 'lift' procedure, because this is going to leave some nasty scars which will take a fairly long time to fade. If you don't mind going with bigger implants, it should be possible for your plastic surgeon to get everything to tighten up again via implant volume versus cutting and removing breast skin.

After implants, when you are ready to wear a bra, something like this (wireless, seamless) is great because it's going to allow your breasts to drop (be more natural looking). I don't know if this differs since you are also getting a lift. Definitely ask your doctor. I just know after a BA it's best to go wireless for a few months. A sports bra would feel too tight, I think. I wanted something that felt "barely there." But again, ask your doctor.

(I've seen these kind of bras at Victoria's Secret too and at all the regular department stores.)

I've had my implants for a little over three years now and I love them. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself! However, you have to remember that they are forever and you need to take care of them the way you are told to. Going back to dancing and doing pole tricks will really mess them up.

To answer your questions: You are going to be swollen for a while, so don't freak out if they look too big. On the other hand don't get used to that size because they are not going to be like that forever. After my implants I wore a sports bra and a kind of ace bandage that my doctor gave me. You wear it around your chest so that is pushes the implants downward. It also helps to kind of hide the swelling because it sort of flattens you out a bit. Buy sports bras the zip in the front. You cannot raise your arms to put on a regular one. Victoria's Secret make awesome wireless bras for when you are ready to start wearing real bras again. Healing time can depend but by 6 months they look how they will look forever.

Just to let you know...If you are have under the muscle implants they are going to hurt exactly the same. They will be cutting thru your chest muscles and lifting them off your rib cage. It doesn't have anything to do with how much breast "fat" you already have.

    Good luck!

If you are going for a lift procedure, either a 'donut' lift or an 'anchor' lift, realistically speaking it is probably going to require 4-6 months before your breast lift incisions are completely healed strong enough, and your scars have faded down enough, to return to dancing.
