Surprised this wasn't up somewhere here already. There's footage of the NYC Hustler Club and of course a pole dancing class.

That really annoyed me, not sure why. I think it was the audience laughing and making fun of the women in the class, the instructor, and the stripper.

I am a stripper and I got a kick out of the piece i love steve colbert it was not offensive to me at all.

I rarely get offended anymore. I thought some of it was quite funny.
I thought it was funny when they showed the real dancer on the pole and then reverted back to the class.

i LOVE colbert, so i was very disapointed to see that...
I think Joanna was cute as well as the girls in her class. The idea that pole dancing = feminism is silly. I think he was just making fun of that idea. But I think the women came off as sweet. Thanks for posting this.
Oh Boy, another potshot at pole dancing and strippers, but I actually found this one to be quite amusing. I'm not too offended by it and I think it was tastefully done. The everday woman finds pole dancing to be quite empowering. It helps them to get in touch with their feminine side, feel more sexy, and confident. My views about pole dancing are quite different, but then again so is my occupation. I say, do whatever works.
I thought it was funny. Colbert Report always always has their special features in that format: the interviewee is serious/sometimes aware it's a bit funny, but presenting their position seriously... the interviewer is tongue in cheek and asks extreme questions, but often ones that can be answered seriously... and the video footage is cut up the contradict/make fun of what is actually being said. It's on Comedy Central... it's not going to be presented non-satirically.
Love the guys saying what a great feminist she is!
Stephen Colbert has made a career out of the potshot that I still somehow find charming. I loved this piece, and I'd totally have his babies.

^^^^^Oh you missed that chance, girlie! Maybe he'll get divorced someday! I liked the bit because it was goofy. Blowing up pole dancing into an empowerment piece is funny. It's like blowing up dodge ball into an olympic sport! It was cute and I loved her husband's responses.

Um... me being offended by this is like me being offended about South Park when I know that the whole premise to South Park is to BE offensive and push the envelope... so yes.. i found this highly amusing..

Thanks so much for posting this, the dancer in the background told me this was coming out a while back, and I missed the broadcast.
Its to bad she didn't have more time, she is simply amazing.
Many time Vu stripper of the year.
The stripper in the background is amusing because the guy talking is sitting there and she's strategically placed.
No one laughed when she was on the screen alone.
And, many people are uncomfortable with themselves in a sexual nature (pity) and giggle when confronted with having to imagine themselves in that light.
It didn't offend me because it was meant to be taken lightly, they make fun of everything else on those shows... why not stripping?

I think just about everything on that show is funny. I could probably work up being offended about this if I tried, but it seemed fairly tame...and if I were a non-stripping viewer, it'd be really hard not to see the funny in 'pole dancing as feminism'.
That made me laugh. She was sooo serious...

i found it cute, kinda made the husband look like an ass, but overall it was jusy a cute silly little piece
