Ok, the first time i thought it was a fluke, but this is becoming more common and I'm wondering if it happens in other areas.
General scenario: Young guy, dressed-up but in a greasy, trashy way, with a super heavy Jersey accent claiming to be a jeweler from New York chats me up and asks if I like jewelry. I say "of course" and he pulls out some gaudy crystal bling.
Me: "Buddy, you've come into the wrong place to sell your crappy jewelry."
Him: "No! It's not for sale! I thought it was beautiful, though, and just wanted to show it to you."
Me: "Are you interested in having fun with me tonight or are you just trying to sell me those ugly earrings?"
Him: "No way! Like I said, these aren't for sale. Although...I mean, we could arrange a TRADE for dances..."
Me: "I may be from Indiana but do I look like I was born yesterday? By the way, I can spot a dirty Jersey accent from a mile away, Mr. NYC."
Does this hustle happen elsewhere? It's annoying as hell. Why do hustlers try to hustle hustlers? Is it for sport because they enjoy a challenge? Seriously.
