I would like to go out to a club at least one more time before the Ohio law takes effect.
How long do I have?

New restrictions on strip clubs
A law scheduled to take effect Sept. 4 places new statewide restrictions on adult businesses:
- Prohibits a sexually oriented business - including bookstores, theaters and strip clubs - from remaining open between midnight and 6 a.m. Clubs with liquor licenses allowing them to stay open until 2 a.m. may remain open, but no sexually oriented entertainment can take place during those hours.
- Requires strippers to remain at least 6 feet from patrons and on a stage at least 2o feet off the floor. Also prohibits strippers from touching any other person who is nude or seminude while in the view of a patron.
- Prohibits patrons from touching any employee of the business who is nude or seminude.

i used to dream militant dreams / of taking over america / to show these white folks how it should be done
i used to dream radical dreams / of blowing everyone away / with my perceptive powers of correct analysis
i even used to think / id be the one to stop the riot and negotiate the peace / then i awoke and dug
that if i dreamed natural dreams / of being a natural woman
doing what a woman does / when shes natural
i would have a revolution

Some of those aren't true. There will be no 6 foot law in place. That waas stricken, as is the 'closing at midnight' law.
Basically what will change is this: If you want a contact dance (such as there are now in Ohio), the dancer will need to keep a top on or have her nipples/breast covered. Otherwise, private dances WITHOUT tops on will be airdances.. Same rules apply for stage tipping.
That;s all that is going to change. You can pick up a copy of the bill and what it entails at our strip club doors (Centerfold Club). You can also read the bulletin board to see what BACE is doing about this. Each dancer at our club pays an additional 5 a night for legal fees.
This is due to take effect September 4th but has a decent chance of being pushed back. Some clubs such as Dockside (which lost it's liqour license) and Kahoots have already begun enforcing this rule.
I was wondering about this, I work in WV and we get a lot of customers from Ohio bitching about this law. I heard August 1st, but I guess it's Sept. 4th.
So I could touch a strippers legs in stockings if she has her top on?![]()

From the language of the law, as I read it anyway, any touching can be considered a misdemeanor. If a guy comes into the club and you shake his hand, you could technically be charged with a 4th degree misdemeanor, whether you are wearing clothes or not.
I have also heard September 4th.

It sounds just like how it is in Virginia. We can't touch or be touched when in a state of semi nudity, if we have a top on and full bottoms contact is allowed. LD's are full contact but fully clothed.
Mojo - YesYou can rub her legs silly as long as her nipples/breasts are covered.
Carolina - Yeah, It's worded a little funny but, like Susan-Va says, it will mimic Virginia's law. Handshaking, hugging, cheek-kissing, leg rubbing, garter tipping and allare still safe as long as we are not nude or semi nude.
The law was slated for August... then got pushed back to September. Will hopefully be pushed back again here in the next week or so. My club (like Columbus Gold) is mostly drink hustle/go-go bar so we're mostly in the clear. Nude clubs will probably be in the clear. The biggest change will be to topless lapdance only clubs (ie. X, Dollhouse, Kahoots, Dockside, Sirens). They'll probably be hit the hardest by the new law.

I think it will be fine if the rules only include when you are nude or semi-nude. I'm fine with offering two types of dances- clothes on and some fun or clothes off air dance. Our DJ and I were discussing it last night and he said he feels that it will be good for our club. Most of the dirtier clubs will get busted and have to close, some of the girls and customers will come to our club and we'll do even better. I hope he's right.
Hopefully they don't bring this crap down to sunny cali
Let's say a dancer wears a burka to give a dance. Would she be able to let guys under her burka and provide a contact dance? She would technically be fully clothed. That would really fix those CCV devils.

I'm not so sure that the club itself gets in any trouble. I may be wrong here, but I understand that the dancers who touch while topless (without pasties), or allow touching, will be the only ones who are charged.
Also, ponder this: if a club is super dirty, and they still haven't been shut down or had their liquor liscense revoked, then what will really change with this law? If they're getting tipped off before vice comes in now, they're still going to be getting tipoffs when the new law goes though. There are already plenty of regulations about the kind of things going on and if no one's been charged for prostitution before I doubt we'll see any different after the 4th. That's what really irks me. If we were all on a level playing field, this law wouldn't worry me at all, but the clubs that enforce the law are going to get stomped if the competition continues to give nude lapdances/hj's/bj's/etc.
Littlelo - COMPLETLY agree. So many clubs get away with so much shit now. Half of the damn clubs still smoke, let alone keeping their girls or businesses clean. A lot of clubs are sayin gthey won't change until they are cited. There is no fear on clubs behalf of the law here in town.
how shitty. when i go back home for thanksgiving, i worry what ill find. i hope all my friends back at my old home clubs can still make money.
