Default Ming and Aoki: Kids' clothing is supposed to look like this!

Remember the thread on little girls wearing skimpy adult clothing? Usually, the fashion industry pisses my off with their Lolita clothing like string bikinis for babies. However, Kimora Lee Simmons has restored some faith with her Ming and Aoki Baby Phat line.

The clothing was made for kids, and not just scaled-down versions of adult clothing. The clothes are bright, cute, funky, and pretty modest. No high heels here, just perfectly comfortable sneakers and flats! The pigtails and lollipops emphasize the that they are children, not Barbie/Bratz dolls or little girls in tight clothing that makes them wish that they could grow breasts.

Aren't the kids sooooo cute, especially Ming and Aoki? They look so happy!

Of course, I could never justify spending outrageous designer prices on clothes that kids will outgrow right away.

    So cute!

Hopefully, WalMart and other stores will copy that style with less expensive clothes.

As crazy and high-maintainence and annoyingly nouveau riche Kimora is, she's a fantastic businesswoman and freaking GORGEOUS to boot.

I love how even though she's always decked out in the shortest microminis and highest stilettos, her children are safely clothed in childhood with long, puffy princess dresses, lacy socks, mary janes, and pigtails.

This line looks really cute- I like the bright colors and girly stuff in a shade other than pink.

Actually, this line is "Ming & Aoki" Collection, which is different from the Baby Phat Girlz line. BPG is more urban wear and it looks like this one is more upscale or at least more creative.

She is a very smart businesswoman.

Hehe, I saw tutu's! That's awesome! If I ever have a daughter, she can wear all the tutu's she wants.

That is awesome! I worried that the styles would be too "churchy" looking, but the look was actually quite hip with out being slutty or trashy.

Awww, I love it. Her models look like real kids, and they look HAPPY. If I had kids, I would love to buy them something like this. Thanks for the link.

They are cute in a kiddie kind of way, but at the same time, the 80s and 90s style that I hated so much is coming back! I

Oh, and I'm sure that daddy Russell Simmons had something to do with the kiddie line, as in he probably took one look at the slutty Lolita fashions and said, "Not my little girls, EVER!"

Can I just say Seriously, letting kids pick out their own clothes and *not* end up looking like hobos! I had them when I was little, I want them to come back in fashion.
