I want to do my own airbrush makeup. Like extreme makeup for fetish events. So where do I even start to look for one? I don't want to do my whole body - just my face. How much should I spend for something to do a job that small?
Directions please.

There's a company that sells an airbrush foundation kit. I've seen it at saks. It has some weird sounding name.
I'll go looking.

Here we go:
It won't let me copy the link for some reason.
Go to saks' website, and do a product number search for:
0450059667431
It's the SK-11 airbrush foundation.

If you want a good one, buy it from somewhere for professionals.
You can research them here:

I haven't tried it myself but I see a lot of airbrushes and compressors at Michaels. If you wait for a 40% or 50% off coupon that come around in the newspaper every few weeks I'm sure you could find a good one. I might be a little skeptical of the airbrushes (I haven't really paid attention to the quality they stock, I'm going to assume it ain't great) but I think you could find a compressor that will do the job.
I only have used an airbrush for decorating cakes and not for makeup so I couldn't give you any specific recommendations. I can get away with a low end compressor since I don't want so much power that might blow a hole in my cake. I think you'd want a better one for makeup though. The airbrush however is where you want to spend the money.
Just something to think about..
Both Temptu and Kett make airbrush makeup with lots of little trial packs in different colors that should be enough for your face to get started with.

Keep us updated with how it goes? I'm totally interested in branching out myself but it sounds $$$.
