cheapest $2.75/gal in MD

It use to be only and arm...now...it is an arm and a leg...
2.78 per gallon here today

Well, a litre is 3.785 gallons, and a Canadian dollar is about $0.94 American. So if it's $1/litre in Canada, that would be $3.785/gallon in Canadian, or $3.56/gallon in American dollars.
(I gotta do conversions like this all the time since I get paid in USD but I pay most expenses in British Pounds.)

ready for a bit of a shock ?
the 'wholesale' price of unleaded gasoline closed at US$2.10 a gallon on yesterday's COMEX. see
The additional price you are paying at the pump consists of distributor mark-ups, retail gas station mark-ups, and the biggie ... state and local taxes ! In the USA the level of tax varies from state to state but averages about 40 cents per gallon nationwide. NY takes the cake at 61 cents per gallon, which explains why NY gasoline sells for $3.09 a gallon while NJ gasoline sold across the river is priced at $2.83 a gallon.
However, US tax rates on gasoline pale compared to those in force in Canada and Europe ... where the cost of the tax in some European countries now sometimes exceeds the cost of the gasoline itself.
also, while the price of wholesale gasoline in Europe may be a bit higher than the US wholesale price, the wholesale price of Canadian wholesale gasoline is exactly the same as the US wholesale price (except for the exchange rate conversion of course). When you drive across the Niagara Frontier the US record holder $3.09 a gallon price on the NY side of the border pales compared to the $3.56 a gallon gasoline price on the Canadian side of the border. The difference is Canadian tax rates.

Gas can...$10....siphoning hose....$5.....value of the gas I can attain...priceless...![]()

I don't even check the price of gas anymore. Whatamigonnadoaboutit? Quit driving?![]()
IMO, purchasing gas is somewhat like anal sex: in order to minimize excessive pain, it's best to just relax all your muscles before the pumping begins...![]()

We im in the Inland Empire part of So Cal so it just depends what city you're in. The closer to Los Angeles you are the cheaper it is. But where I am at "regular" gas is $3.00 and about $4.00 for 92 octane.

I want to see the gas prices go higher, but not to teach Americans a lesson, but to push us into alternative fuels grown or produced locally, to boost our economy and ween us off the middle-east's oil-tit.
It would be a lesson to the radical nations in the middle east that we are stuck trading with.
I know about the commute thing. I've been there, done that (150 miles a day round trip). the prices wouldn't stay high for very long before we worked it out in the end. There are a lot biofuel producers ready to come on line, they are merely waiting for the demand.
I pay 2.45 a gallon for E85 bioethanol. It took a $500 conversion on my car, but that is about 60-70 cents less than premium fuel around here. I can still run on regular gas, if I need to. It is just a matter of switching a couple of things under the hood.

I visit Sequential Biofuels here in Eugene. I already drive an economy car, so performance seems exactly the same to me, maybe even a bit peppier when accelerating.
Everyone should be prepared that most everything is going to get more expensive over the next couple of years, and not by just a little bit. The value of the US dollar is sinking like a stone, and we don't manufacture much of anything here in the USA anymore.
Since we import a lot of our oil, that is going get more costly as well.
