    Default Airbrush tan at home?

    I searched, and found crap.

I want to try an at-home airbrush tan, but don't know what to try. I saw the one thread about Jet Tan from Guenevere, but that's it. Guen, are you still using that, and do you still like it? Does anyone else use that or another product?

I liked Jet Tan but if I can remember correctly its made of plastic and something on it broke .So then I bought an air brush tanning system off of Ebay and now make extra cash doing all my girlfriends. We love it.

Sorry I'm not in alot to post replies.

I just bought a regular airbrush and an air compressor and bought some tanning solution from avivalabs.com lot#j21dn with 10%bronzer. Works great.

I made a thread about it earlier, but I love my machine and have had it for almost 2 years with no problems. Just bought some new solution (they have several different types). I love it.

Do you spray yourself? If so, how do make sure it's even? Does it make a huge mess?

I might want try this since I won't be able to tan while I get tattoo laser treatments, not to mention it is probably healthier.

    Any more info appreciated!

My husband sprays me, we do it in the garage, but there is no mess. I don't think I would be able to do it myslelf. We have done it in the shower before, but you do have to clean the tub when done, pretty simple.

OKay, so how long does it last? When it wears off what does it look like? Smells?

Is it hard to keep up? Does it look orange in natural light? I know I have a ton of questions, but I've always been curious about the airbrush tanning stuff. The mystic tan to me always looks orange in natural light and I hate how it wears off in weird places like the back of the knees and creases of arms, do you have this problem? Oh please tell me more!

I always used to use the EVO (high DHA)brand formula and it was much like you described above. This time I bought the Mystic formula with the least amount of DHA (the les DHA, the less bronze and tan look). I am really pale naturally , so for someone who is darker i would recomend a higher DHA and added bronzers will make it even darker. My problem before was I bought one that was too dark for my skin, so you could really see where it was and where it was wearing off etc.

I put this one on yesterday around 4pm and showered at 4am , it looks really natural. In the outside light , i look darker than normal but still would probably look pale to someone who doesn't know me (unlike the blotchy oranges I ve had before). I kept thinking it didn't work much, but then i stand next to my husband and there is a big difference.

I wanna try more brands to compare but this one is sooo light. After about 2 hours my skin was so smooth and no funny feel or smell. I also put lotion all over after it was completely dry , to prevent my skin from drying. Never use oil base products to moisturize after an airbrush tan, they will conflict and cause a bad tan.

    Sorry, more questions.

You shave your legs and stuff between applications and it doesn't effect the tan?

You also exfoliate your whole body before the tan?

Yep, shave as you normally would. Of course over the course of a few days you tan will naturally exfoliate with your skin, but if you exfoliate before the tan it will last longer.

Buffie, I have some questions too. Which airbursh sysytem did you buy? Does the airbrush tan look different or better than bottle spray tans like the Neutrogena one? Approximately how many times can you spray yourself from one container of the tanning solution? Thanks.

Ok, sorry I saw this thread so late, haven't been on in a bit. I do still use my jet tan, pretty much when I need a little extra color because I prefer the beds but I still love my gun. I haven't had any problems with mine but I do have a friend that says hers streaked and the only thing I can think of is if it was partially clogged. Mine gets clogged very seldom if I don't run it clean enough afterwards (by running water until the mist is solid clear water) it will sputter or spray instead of mist but normally that's not an issue and when it is it's simple to correct. That's the only complaint I've ever heard from anyone, so yes, I still love mine

I bought the salon one (for 399 I think). I used to used loreal sublime (rub on) and then spray Neutrogena over it. It looks better than both. I use a very thin coat and it looks really natural, even in the daylight. I bought 1/2 gallon and I use about 3-4oz when I apply it. (128oz in a galon i think, so approximately 32 uses) and i reapply every 2 days or so ( i shave and shower 2x or more a day, so it may last longer for normal people, lol). My solution was 60 bucks for the 1/2 gallon. I was paying about 40 bucks for the neutrogena and loreal per week, so in the long run it's way cheaper.

So wish I could go tanning, but i have had skin cancer in the past and this has been my favorite substitute so far.

I'm going to ask for one for X-mas! I saw a girl last night who does an at home spray, she used the same brand you were talking about. It looked great!

Ohhh I want one! I want to get really dark. I don't mind if it's a bit orangey. It would look good in club lights. I'm fair skinned and skin cancer runs in my family and I get freckly in the sun.

Bridgette I highly recommend this type of spray tanning unit (the vaccum cleaner style)

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Spray-Tan-Air...QQcmdZViewItem

I bought the machine of ebay.

But the black magic spray tan forumla is shit (very light and not a nice colour).

The FAKE BAKE spray tanning forumla is fantastic.
It gives a deep bronze colour if that is the look you are after. Of course you can control the level of colour depending on number of coats that you do.

K, I was hoping for a follow up on some of you girls who were doing the air brush tanning.

I've been asked to be a partner in an air brush tanning company, and I want more information about it first. Do you girls still like it, still use it?

Formulas you like and ones you hate?

Any other information would be great.
