Slow, not worth your while right now. Most major/business conventions have been redirected to San Jose's convention centers... because they raised the cost to hold one in SF's convention locations, as well as hotel costs. I'm thanking my lucky stars I have makeup artistry to fall back on, or else I'd be screwed! I didn't realize just how much of my $$ came from custys who were in town b/c of conventions. Anyways there are 1 or 2 clubs in San Jose (Pink Poodle I know is still there for sure), but I haven't heard anything good about them.

The Pink Poodle sucked ass when I worked there ! That's not the place to go if your goal is $500+ a night. You'll be lucky if you make half of that. I worked there for about a week when I was tired of making the commute into the city and driving home falling asleep.
I pass by often and rarely see more than 5-10 cars parked outside. You might do well looking into the other Silicon Valley clubs in Sunnyvale.

I posted earlier about my experience at Gold Club (San Fran) last night. I like the club, the girls, the customers, but management is now horrible. I quit cuz the dick running the place now is looking to charge girls $200 to work whenever he gets an excuse (if you come in later than 7 or can't commit to 3+ days a week, no matter how good the excuse). You can make $ when you start getting regulars, but the damn club just charges you an arm and a leg to work. If you do make good money and they know, they'll have their hands out, wanting 1/3. It's really pathetic when an industry that once was so lucrative for th girls (or so I've heard, since I didn't start til after 9/11) is now just focused on taking as much from the people who are the very reason the establishments exist and thrive. Making $ from customers isn't enough anymore. Now the girls tolerate too much it seems, so clubs take advantage. Stop the insanity and stick up for yourselves girls!

^That's pretty much been my experience with the clubs here too.
It really knocked the "hustler" out of me ! Especially when a lot of the $$ I'm making is from MY pre-established custys, not from any the club is bringing in.
It's hard to get motivated when you're being pimped !!

Well I told Gary Marlin what I think of him and his club and the way he runs the business. I wish more girls would stand up for themselves. This industry would be way better for the girls if we weren't so damn passive. We need to remember to insist on being treated like princesses, not hookers.![]()

The San Francisco work scene is super problematic from what I have been told. Aside from the Lusty Lady - which is not a sure thing by any stretch - most every club in the bay area is owned by DejaVu and their business practices really suck. They make sort of a show about discouraging extras and the like in some of their clubs but they also charge exorbitant stage fees which they know coerce dancers into act of prostitution in order to make up the money if they did not make enough on any given night. These clubs - again most of the clubs in the bay - are also super creepy union busters and although I know that a lot of dancers and other sex workers are not okay with unionization the sort of tactics that were pulled by DejaVu and elsewhere should not be acceptable to anyone regardless of their stance on worker unionization. Threats made against the lives of organizers by known murderers, public exposure of private and personal information that could lead to stalking or harm for those exposed, coercion of uninvolved dancers to give out the personal information of dancers involved in organizing. Lots of creepy shit and all of it a matter of public record in the bay.
I know that as someone who is openly a union worker - and I unionized as a sex worker back when I was still a professional domme and professional submissive - there is next to no chance that I will ever get to work in any of the more upscale or mainstream clubs in the bay area. Once they discover my politics - and this goes for any dancer who is interested in organizing for improved work conditions regardless of being union or not - it has been said that I will be completely blacklisted from the clubs, even if I wanted to attend as a customer though I would not give my money to any establishment run by DejaVu and other such scummy fascists.
Right now my understanding is also that although the Lusty Lady remains a cooperative it also has a lot of dancers (over fifty) and so individual dancers do not get a whole lot of stage time and the pay is kind of shit as a result. The cleanliness issue of the booths at the Lusty Lady also seems to remain a problem big enough that it is often the first thing people mention. But I do hear that the dancer culture and community in the club is pretty great and that people are friendly and non-competitive since they are also paid an hourly wage for working, which I think balances everything else out for some people. It is looking like this may be the place where I have to go for my first audition and hopefully first job, just because the SF scene is very anti-union and I am not sure I am capable of taking off my politics even when I take off my clothes. Though my understanding is that if you really want solid good money at the Lusty you need to be part of the cooperative and not just a dancer, and joining the cooperative requires a $300 buy-in which is just kind of obnoxious.
But yeah. The San Francisco scene is really kind of sketch right now, and for people who have certain kinds of strong political attitudes it is so not okay. I definately recommend staying away from any of the clubs owned by DejaVu just because they will extort and exploit the hell out of anyone who works for them. Oh I really hate them so much!
It can be difficult to make a recently single man pay for sex when he knows that a quick trip to the local watering hole would secure at least one hard drunken tumble for far less cash. It is even more difficult when he is something of a dead ringer for James Bond as played by Daniel Craig and possesses the sort of awkard charm and confidence that brands a man like him as a lady killer.

The fees have gone up at the Gold Club so it's a little tougher to keep your money.
House fees are $80 before 7pm, $100 before 8pm and $200 thereafter (to discourage the latecomers).
The bubble room is 2 for $60 with a $10 cut to the club.
Champagne and Skybar are $325/$350 for half hour (cash) to the customer with your cut being about $200/$260. Then they take a $50 cut again at the end from your cut and tipping the floor host is expected at $20.
Your cut for the hour at the champagne/skybar is $500 but then again they do take $100 at the end and tipping the floorhost $40.
I know a lot of girls go upstairs to the vip floor - the unofficial 3 for $100. Some top girls can do multiple CR's. It really depends on finding good regulars and being an incredibly good conversationalist. August is really slow, september should pick up..

Well, since the weathers turning to crap and I wont be able to make it to Reno for much longer -
Where - for someone who just wants to stop by and work a weekend here and there would be the best bet?
I mean, I dont want to pay a $300 fee to join cooperative (I have no idea what this is BTW) and am just a bit confused over the whole SF thing now with the unionization and all.
This confusing post may explain how confused I am...
I just want somewhere to go for a weekend every month or so!
Isnt the point of the custy paying them say $325 and you getting $200 is that they "took their CUT"? I mean how are they feeing you again? What is their explination for this? In Reno a 1/2 hour is $275 cash or $335 cr and we get $200 then I give host $20.... I get it - theyre charging a "room fee" but how do they re-fee you?! Ugh... what a mess...
There used to be a time in SF, at least at Hustler, where they didn't charge you at the end of the night for CR. According to my sources who work there now, they do charge you at the end of the night. Like you said, not much of an incentive to do CR, at all. You can make more doing VIP LD, IMO.

Yeah, and right before I told them to get [email protected] and was still tolerating this crap I found out they were starting to keep track of VIP too, so then they really know how much you're making. Those managers are peices of crap I tell ya. Bad karma for them- =P
