Default Cell phones don't like bubble baths?!

So im a dork... apparently cell phones and water don't get along

Yea I umm was sending a text msg when I was taking a bubbley bath n I dropped my phone in the water heh...

Anyway I fished it out so it was in less then a second.. like it was super quick... but now its acting funny.

I took the battery out and let it dry but the camera lens is foggy now and the screen is a bit foggy and it randomly turns off..and there are times some of the buttons don't work then they work again, its kinda weird..... should I let it dry out more? Is there anything else I can do? I don't have a hair dry(I don't use heat styling on my hair). I am going crazy without my phone! LoL

let it dry out for a while, and if the buttons still dont work you might have to take it apart and find the metal plate that the numbers push on. this metal plate contacts some curcuts and such when you push on the numbers, and when it gets wet can get rust or other scum on it.

when my husbands phone got washed (he left it in his pants!) i had to scrape the stuff off of the metal plate where the buttons popped, and the buttons worked just fine after that.

also, when you let it dry, try and take it apart as much as you can do easily, to allow more air flow through and more water to evaporate from the interior of the phone, so that you get as little residue and fogging as possible.

usually a day or two is good.

if you have insurance on the phone though, you might consider just making a claim.

and if you really dont feel like going through all that trouble, you coul djust get a new phone... but the drying and taking it apart thing isnt that hard to do, and usually the phone works just fine afterwards, at least for me...

I dropped my phone in the sink a few months ago - and have never been so glad to have insurance! If you have it, the system was totally worth going through. I had a new phone within days.

If not, there still may be a way to fix it. Good luck!

Unless you phone is a samsung. My friend accidently left hers through a wash cycle in the laundry and through the dryer. She told me it still worked.
