    Default Waking up too early

What can I do to help this particular sleep problem? I'm usually a really good sleeper, yet lately I wake up at least an hour or two before I feel fully rested...and then I can't go back to sleep. So all day I feel really groggy. I fall asleep really easily, and I'm so exhausted by the time I get back from work and get into bed that I think I'll sleep like a rock...Then I wake up early again and it repeats itself. Could it be because of the weather? My apartment is tropical right now. What can help? I can't use sleep aids because falling asleep isn't the issue...I don't know what is. Sorry to whine, but I love my sleep and this is such a bother. I have exams this week and studying is tough when I'm so foggy.

Well, there are some sleep aids that are meant to keep you asleep, not just to help you fall asleep.

As for other methods...If you're going to bed right when you come home, that might be the problem. It's too much of a crash from full-energy (work) to unconscious.

Maybe try and stay up for two hours, but relaxing. Drinking some warm tea (decaf), reading a book, taking a bubble bath. Any of these will help your body transition a little more slowly, rather than crashing, so your body can go through the sleep stages more easily, and therefore have you sleep longer.

Another problem could be liquor. Do you drink a lot at work? That can exhaust your body, but alcohol keeps your body from using sleep properly, so you fall asleep easily, but the quality of sleep is very poor, and you often wake up more.

I don't drink at all, but you could be right about the crashing thing. I'll try to stay up reading for a little while. Thanks!
