Default Getting back my natural texture?

Yes, I know I have a lot of hair woes recently, but that's because I'm trying to stop damaging my head to let it grow.

I have very frizzy, coarse hair. It also used to be extremely curly. As long as I let it wet dry with some gel coated in it, it would go into perfect ringlets, and a lil hairspray would make the frizz go poof.

Of course, highschool/college me hated curly hair, and straightened it on a regular basis. Eventually, my hair stopped going curly.

Even now, that I have all the damage cut out, have cut back on heat styling, it still won't curl. At best, it does a slight messy frizzy wave.

Is there anything product/shampoo/whatever (NOT curlers or irons) to encourage the curl back? Is there a chance that when it grows back (back when I had those curls, my hair was about bra-strap length...now it's a few inches past my chin) it will curl again?

I was such an idiot...I never realized what a blessing wash-and curl locks were

Have you read about putting oil in your hair? It really helps calm frizz and makes my hair silky. Moisturizes those ends that get really really dry. PM Paige about it, or read some of the methods on longhaircommunity.com. I've used EVOO and want to try jojoba and coconut.

If you were born with curly hair you will get it back.but all of the damaged hair has to grow out.Curly hair also changes texture every 7 years or so .If your hair has changed texture into wavy hair then you wont get your curls back.

After washing your hair I would blot it dry and use a light detangler. After detangling I would diffuse my hair. Attach the diffuser to your blow dryer and diffuse evenly all over your head until it's about 90% dry. When diffusing you want to just hold the dryer over one area for a few seconds barely moving the dryer than move on to the next area. As you are moving the dryer to each area you can scrunch a bit however, if you mess with it too much then it will frizz up again.
