Default There are flying things around my plants!

I've been growing a couple different plants in my room this summer, and there's these tiny flying things that live on them now! They are all over my room at night and get into my tea cups and food. What can I do? I repotted a few of the plants and there doesn't seem to be any plant damage. Do I need to get rid of the plants? Use chemicals?

Oh, and it's only on the leafy plants-the aloe seems to be totally flyless.

Try spraying your plants with with soapy water. Use dishsoap.

Are they fruit flys, maybe? Here's how to make a fruit fly trap - it worked for me.

You could try a natural bug spray, or make your own, they contain garlic, pepper, & I don't know what else. Helpful, aren't I? There was this old guy on pbs, he's written some books about stuff like this & more. He's on QVC sometimes too

Hm...I'm guessing they might be aphids. Are they very tiny and green, with clear wings? If you look very closely, do they have two long skinny things sticking off their butts? If so...ladybugs are voracious predators on aphids. Go catch a few ladybugs, put them on your plants, and see what happens!
