Coming from experience in a club where we offered $20 table/lap dances, and had no private dance area:

I preferred lap/table dancing because the $20 added up really quick. I considered it advertisement both for private VIP sessions and other lap dances. The more I did, the more I seemed in demand. The mentality of it'll be like giving anyone who's staring a free dance was absent where I worked. Yeah, some people watch, some don't. I'd literally watch who was watching, and approach them next for a dance. It's all a matter of perspective.

I was one of the only girls who literally danced ON the table as well as lap/table danced at the guy's chair. I also charged $20. This was good for: bachelor parties or small groups of cheap guys who could each chip in four or five bucks. Sometimes, after a no for lap dances from all of them, I'd stay at their table, and make my "table" dance pitch. I'm just there to make money. As long as I'm being compensated for entertaining you, i'll dance on your fucking table. It's rather fun. Often, I would walk away with $30 or more for one song, because the guys would tip ones or more while I was up there. Everyone would turn to look, (not necessarily watch the whole dance) and I think it was great advertisement. You look like the party girl up there naked--the ultimate entertainer. I've had other guys ask me after seeing me on a table, hey... can you get up on our table?? I used to be the only girl that marketed these, and by the time I left, there was only one other brave soul who even rarely did them. But they really were a secondary consideration--for bachelor parties and small groups of cheap guys where they weren't buying lap dances OR the guy that says "i dont get dances." I'd say well, I understand totally. How about I dance on your table for you? 50% of the time i'd get a yes out of a no this way.

It seems at my club most of the customers are really on a budget so the 10$ table dance seems like a good deal to them. Plus, management dosent take money from the tabledance sales like they do for the VIP. Sometomes it even leads to a vip.

I prefer not to do table dances, especially on busy nights because I have had customers (that I was not giving a dance to) slap my ass hard twice and a couple of times grope my ass. I couldn't see these guys come up to me because I was dancing on another customer. I feel too exposed and vulnerable giving dances on the floor.

I have stopped mentioning the table dance to customers. If they really want one and its not busy I will do it, but I really don't like to. Maybe pretend that this happened to you and that's why you only do private dances? Then you won't seem like a diva but you still don't have to do them.

I don't even waste my time doing table dances. I work in a club with a high turnover of white collar guys, so SOMEONE has the money to get $500/hour in VIP. If they don't have the money for that, I don't have the time for them, because my primary moneymaker is VIP.

I don't even OFFER table dances EVER, I only do them if I think the guy is checking me out for VIP. It's not worth it to me to take one song to sell it, one song to do it, and one song to finish up and excuse myself MINIMUM. That's three songs minimum to get $10! If 3 songs are 10 minutes long and I'm dancing every possible opportunity, I'm making $60 an hour. No thanks. Not worth my time.

I see so many girls doing them and I'm like "FOOLS! Learn risk management!" Whenever I have done table dances, I always see guys sitting down who are good VIP hustle material and kick myself when another girl makes their way over there first.

I usually work a 6 hour shift, and I usually get at least an hour in VIP with this strategy, usually more. If I can get just one hour in VIP, I'm making more than I did doing table dances all night.

It's interesting to see how different all of our clubs are. Here you wouldn't take a whole song to sell a dance, or a song afterward to finish up. You just bop from song to song, it's a fast moving "wanna dance" type club. I prefer this because I like to be really busy, otherwise I fall out of my stripper persona and think too much, or start yawning. I always offer VIP from the start but it's common for guys to have a dance out on the floor first, then move into VIP. It sounds cheap, but what I average is the same as what I see others post here that work in clubs with higher priced dances and VIP. Not sure quite how it could work out that way but I'm glad that it does.

At our club we aren't allowed to walk around unless we're fully clothed. It's entirely possible to sell a table dance at the start of a song, do it, get your money, throw on your outfit, and leave, but who wants to do that all night? It's exhausting.

Actually that did happen to me when I was working at a club in south Florida

The other downside to this club is they have no VIP rooms. Only table dances or $25 lapdances are permitted here..I'm not used to not working without a vip room.

My club only has $20 table dances and VIP rooms that are $300 for a 1/2 hour and $500 an hour, and I like it that way. Doing dances out in the open really cuts down on the amount of grimy guys who try to grope you because they see that managers and bouncers are always around...plus it's GREAT advertising for all the customers at the surrounding tables who like the way you dance and literally start waiting for their turn...it's like they're getting a sneak preview. And by that point, the busier you get, the more you're in demand and dances just seem to flow, one after the other. It's also easier to up-sell to rooms that way because customers will be more inclined to want you all for themselves. So yes, I actually do like table dances.
