    Default Wavy hair- Latinarose help?

When I do the VS curls, at the end of the night and I brush out my hair, I end up with these soft, pretty waves. I like them. But how can I get thoes same waves without curling my hair then combing it out?
I've been looking for a hairwaver everywhere, and I can't find one...anyone know who sells them?

When you say VS curls, I'm assuming you mean vic secret style.

I use a 1.5" curling iron. I take a lock of hair, and starting near the roots of the hair, I begin winding the hair around the base of the iron. The ends of my hair will be at the tip of the curling iron. I hold the hair there for a moment.

The hair looks tight and curly right after doing it, but settles into beautiful 'vs' style waves after a bit. I'll coax the hair down a bit with my fingers.

If I'm in a rush, I'll do the same thing with larger locks of hair. I'll have to use hairspray though, because while it'll look perfect at the get go, my hair always settles a bit and will look too straight when I do it this way...

Use a larger barrel curling iron to get soft curls.

Or, get a three-barrel curler. You can find decent ones at Sally's.

Yes, but I mean even more relaxed waves.
Like how thoes curls look after you get home, yrou night is over, you brush your hair out...even the next morning after sleeping all night, you end up with these very relaxed waves...
    That's what i want.

I did find a hair waver at Target.
Gonna try it out and see if it gives the look I want.

    thanks for the help

Maybe try hot tollers too, the largest barreled ones you can find. They'll give you curl, but the softer variety, imitating the "brushe dout curl" look you want.

Then look at the bottom of my post. Where it starts 'if I'm in a rush' because with that technique, as said, it will look perfect from the get go, as in right after you do it. You just have to use a bit of hairspray so the loose waves don't fall out...

I had a wave iron once, but it doesn't give that beautiful loose spiral at the ends of the hair. It just looks like gigantic crimping...

yeah...hair waver sucks. Gave me large crimpy like hair, slightly frizzy, and made my hair unblended with the fake hair.

    Blah.

The hot rollers do that, and it does work to run your fingers through them to loosen them. And why couldn't you just brush your curls out, if that's what gives you the look you're after?

Cause it takes a long ass time to do thoes curls, and if the end result is brushed out it kinda seems silly to me to spend all that time curling it only to brush it out..and I would thik there is an easier way to achieve that look.

I also bought hot rollers...I guess they were to small or something cause they made me look like a poodle. I did not like them al all. Way to curly

I have had straight, easy to style hair my whole life. Run a straightneing iron through it to mae it smooth and I was done...and my hair was never very long. So I'm pretty hair dumb, and now trying to deal with hair past my bra strap, plus styling it so that it blends perfectly is hard for me.

Straigh is easy, but doesn't blend perfectly. Waves or curls blends better, but takes longer, and is just something I'm not to familar with doing, so I'm not to good at it.
But I'm very very anal about how well my hair is blended in. If it don't look 100% natural and like my own hair, I won't leave. So I may just be to picky. Half the time my boyfriend says he can't tell while I'm bitching and complaining I can see a shelf.

Kaylinn, I used to sue velcro rollers when my hair was really long.

I'd let it air dry most of the way after the shower, then hang my head upside down and dry with a blow dryer the rest of the way. I'd take sections of my hair, spray with a curling gel spray and then wrap this around a roller, pin and wait.

I'd do my make-up or apply my tanner or both then take my hair out and shake it down, run my fingers through it a bit and I had soft pretty waves all over my head.

I know the look you're trying to achieve and it is very nice. Unfortunately, I've never found another way to do it besides just curling and brushing out.

I also think you're outta luck. Did you get the same big waver that you used at my house? Trust me, it takes some practice to make that thing work. If I want loose waves with it, no hairspray and only hold it in place for a few seconds. Just enough to make a slight wave, but not like you're trying to make it last all night. No hairspray till the end and I shake it out and finger comb it.

Yes, I got the same kind. I already had the 3barrel crap thing that don't work worth a damn.

I may have held it in place to long. I ended up kind of likign the look...reminded me of a mermaid, LOL. But I could not get it to blend in, if I waved it in just the right(wrong?) spot, my natural hair ended up waved out instead of in, and so I gave myself a line where my real hair ended. No matter what I trie, I couldn't get it waved right so it blended.

I'm thinkign of trying Velcro rollers, but I'm scared winding my hair up in thoes will cause tangles.....

    I just want nice waves....

Oh..I wanted to ask, for the beachy piecy messy kind of hair..what product do you use for that? I looked everywhere for like a salt water spray, I know I've seen it before but I couldn't find any, and i thought that's what I would use for that look.....

Your hair shouldn't tangle in the velcro, just take them out methodically and slowly.

I did a photo shoot ages ago and the guy who did my hair and make-up (I jsut remembered this) took sections of my hair, sprayed them down with I'm assuming hair spray or a curling gel spray and then twisted them. Not tight, but the entire section was a long twisted strand, then wound that up and pinned it up.

The end result of that looked like little cinnimon buns on my head. But they weren't tight, I think that part is important. Then he took them down and shook them out, ran his fingers through my hair and I had very full, soft wavy hair.

I'd say play around with that a bit, see if it gets the look you want. But honestly Kaylin, I think no matter what it's going to be work to get that look you want. Play with the other ways, but your best bet might be sticking to the method you know works.

thanks so much for everyones help

I may be able to get these waves by braiding my hair in sections and sleeping on them, I'll just have to braid high enough so my short hair stays in.

I'll play with all these ideas and see what I come up with.
I'm so glad I have hair to play around with like this

I hate Velcro rollers. They take a lot of practice to make them look good and I'd be really weary of using them on your fake hair. I would try braids first. For beachy hair, I use John Frieda's ocean waves and some texturizer.
