Default The Pickup Artist-more VH1 tv junk food!

I like it! Mystery is pretty famous around the internet community for doing the "speed seduction" thing and he's bringing it to reality TV.

And they're filming it here in Austin, woohoo!! We've already seen people we know on the first showl. I'm so excited about this reality gig. They were at Foundation in the first episode, that place is a such a gross meat market too.

Anyone else see the first episode?

...isn't he the same dude that teaches you how to pick up strippers by not paying them and making fun of all their friends?

..why would I want to see that? D:

I thought you've been married for some years?

But I don't know about the not paying strippers part. I just think this will be amusing. AND, its in my town. Oh, and I watched the beginning part tonight, and I also TOTALLY know the chubby guy who was dancing at Foundation. He goes by Hermes, he is always downtown it seems.

Whether we like it or not, men are going to try to go to clubs and pickup strippers. Either they think strippers are low-class dirty whores, or they amazing goddesses that would be an honor to date. Its the way it is....

Katrine, you really should read his stuff on strippers. It's not that 'oh some men will pick up on you get over it'... it's some foul demeaning stuff about how we're whores and you should never pay us and the only way to get in our pants is to ____ and ____..... it's a load of demeaning bullcrap.

And good lord, do we need another 'I can get chicks! I SWEARS IT!' guy on this board? It's okay though, because he's COOL with what we do! Nobody else EVER is... like EVER!

And since when do I only meet guys clubbing? Dude.

Edit: Just a rant... gloss this post if you're offended. Sorry.

^Hahaha! Hey Johnny dancers are women too. Are job of choice does not define who we are as a general explanation of who we are. We are all different with different needs and wants. AND YOU don't buy dances or drinks?!! Thanks for coming in and wasting her time. Yea winner right there.

Anyways, yea I did see it. I thought it was hilarious. Unfortunately, it has that douchbags in the making feel on the show. I'll have to see another just so I can laugh some more.

I love some of the guys who come on here, like this Johnny Soprano:

"Guys like me are great! I respect you, go to clubs, and I dont buy dances for myself! I'm the best boyfriend ever!"

Sorry sweetie. But if you aren't spending money on me, I'm not wasting time on you, no matter how nice you think you are.

If you go to Johnny website, it's a photo from a magazine from www.stylelife.com which is one of those how to pick up women programs. Guess we know how valuable Johnny's advice is now.

I thought it started tonight. I have programmed my drv to record it.

By the way, I recommend reading The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists by Neil Strauss. I enjoyed it in a car wreak, oh my gawd, that just awful but I can't look away tragicomedy. It's Neil 's autobiography of his time as a pick up artist while rooming with Mystery. Personally, from how Niel describes him, Mystery should be in therapy. It will be interesting to see how this show plays out.

Point taken, I will definately read up on him. As far as this Johnny Soporno trollshit, don't worry. I presume he is just shilling for something he is selling?

Me personally, I would NEVER date a guy who came into the club and made a big point to say, "I never buy dances." Buying dances doesn't make a man a PL unworthy of dating. It..just...doesn't. When dancing, if I approached a an attractive man for dances and he said no, I just assumed I wasn't his type. That ended the interaction. Why would I spend any further time with him if he wasn't attracted to me.

NOW...if he got a few dances and we had chemistry (two-sided, not just on his end) and I was into him, sure I would go out. As all of us here knew, that happened a handful of times in 8 years. But the few guys I hung with OTC said no, they never would have had a chance!

Why does this not make sense to you guys? If you want to date a stripper, you need to spend SOME money!

LoveDrop, I think you don't quite understand what forum you are. This is Stripperweb. More importantly, its' the pinkside. This means the overwhelming majority of people here are STRIPPERS. So when a bunch of us say "nope, we wouldn't go home with you, especially if you dont spend money", you're comment of "thats not true, believe me"...doesn't quite work.

If a couple of desperate girls went hoem with you, okay...but understand the vast majority of strippers do not want a date with a customer, let alone a customer who isn't willing to spend money.

See, you even started a thread and all the guys that follow that method have come out of the woodwork.

This is what they BELIEVE.. as a FACT. Hahaha.

My Soprano is just like the Mystery Method on strippers. He's doing nothing different.

Looks like another train wreck waiting to happen and you all know how much we like watching those. The chosen few on this show make the previous entrants on "Beauty and the Geek" look like studs.

You too can have any woman you want...for just $2150-$2450. ($950 deposit).

In any regard, I think this "reality" show is going be like most "reality" shows, meaning what happened in front of the camera has been creatively edited to make it seem like something it isn't. I'm sure VH1 has some discussion boards on this.

Awww, fuck! I've created a monster. Why didn't you tie me down and make me stop, you Aussie lynx, you!!

All I can speak from is my own experience. And yes, I have gone home with guys I've met at the club, or gone home with them after a later date. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM BOUGHT DANCES! Its not fucking rocket science.

Strippers don't see guys who don't spend at the club as potential dates. They see them as a waste of fucking space!

However, I've been wasted a few times at the club, and didn't know left from right. Some girls are wasted on a regular basis. Mistakes happen. Trying to play that "speed seduction" shit on me when I was working draws and instant red flag. I would get up and walk away...

If your going to throw around the terms get it right.

Speed Seduction uses freudian Psychology to basically hypnotize girls into first feeling a deep sense of emotion connection then irresistible arousal.

Mystery Method uses evolutionary psychology to became what is thought of as the alpha male or tribal leader.

Not arguing if they work just get the terms right.

Speed Seduction was created by Ross Jeffries, it is based on concepts from the psychology field Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) that was created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder around the late 60's and 70's.

I saw Darren Brown use a few NLP techniques.

Freud is associated with psychoanalysis, which is actually mentioned in most psychology textbooks, unlike NLP.

"I consider alpha male behavior more in line with when a guy beats the snot out of some creepy douche who trys to "hypnotize" his girlfriend with that vulcan mind melt shit."

Haha... I guess that's the reason why Speed Seduction is so unpopular.

Definitely looks to be a train wreck kind of show.

Question about the hidden camera they are using to film Ladies interacting with the guys. Is that illegal?

    From http://www.dv.com/columns/columns_it...leId=193400761

    The right of publicity
Right of publicity law protects subjects against the commercial misappropriation of their likeness. Be careful, industrial filmmakers: corporate videos may also count as commercial speech if they are being used to advertise the company's services or products. You should have a signed authorization from your subject; otherwise, you might be violating his or her right of publicity and can be sued.

Example: You film your neighbor washing his car and use that footage in a television commercial for car wax. You're using your neighbor's image for commercial purposes and must have his written permission to use the footage.

Example: You film your neighbor playing catch with his kids and use the footage in your company's film promoting its life insurance products. The finished video is used by insurance agents to help land clients. Here again, you're using your neighbor's image for commercial purposes and must have his written permission to use the footage.

Since Mystery sells lessons about his pick up skills on line, could not the Pick Up Artist program be viewed as a commercial for his consulting services and could the women who have been filmed if they have not signed releases sue VH1 or Mystery? Personally, I think that would be a hoot.
