Default Now that I have a weight bench, what do I do with it?

I finally got the weight bench from father-in-law's house. I also have 2 bars, dumbbells (the kind you assemble, not the little colored one-piece ones), a variety of weight plates form 2 1/2 to 10 lbs, a stationary bike, a ski machine, one of those rubber-band things with the handles on each end, a mat, and my pole is coming this week. I have a TV and DVD player in the exercise room, as well.

My whole point of working out is to burn fat. What do I do with all this stuff?

I HIGHLY recommend the Women's Body Sculpting Bible. Simple, non-gimmicky, and if it's weight training programs doesn't change your body, nothing short of surgery will. Super-effective.

Good luck! I hate weight training, but dammit, it is THE shit for changing your body.

If its the kind you can adjust (make inverted, face down, ass up) its good for doggie-style.

I reccomend getting the Body for Life book. It has lots of pictures of how to do the exercises properly with a weight bench and diet advice. Also lots of inspirational pictures. My bf and I do exercises with this book.

Are you pear shape like I am?

What me and my trainer do is lift heavy for the arms and back. I do 12-15 reps per set for arms. Then for legs I lift semi-heavy so I'm not crying by the end but feel tired I do 20-25 reps to keep the muscles long and lean. The reason for this is to balance out my body to not look so hippy but more balanced.

I think the bar is 45lbs alone. You can work up to the bar or by starting off with it. If you can't start with it try dumbbells first to build muscles strength. You can always use that rubber band thing for your triceps and biceps. http://exercise.about.com/cs/exercis...andworkout.htm

I also have the Women's Body Sculpting Bible. It was my first diet book to open my eyes about my eating and help me loose my first 30lbs awhile ago. Easy to read and no buy this and that advertisements.

Thanks for advice, all. My keyboard is f*d up, so its hard to reply. I'm reading, though.

If 10 pounds is your heaviest weight, you're going to need to invest in heavier weights.

I agree with the Body-for-Life book. I highly recommend it...and you may want to look into purchasing the Eating for Life book to go along with that.
