If I can comment from the other side of the fence....
Most guys will probably come into a SC with an idea of what sort of dancer they like - and from afar you can only judge that from a dancer's appearance. With 100 girls working, (like has been mentioned in some posts) then it's a question of spotting a dancer whose 'image' appeals. In effect you're competing with the 10 (or 20 or 30) girls working the same theme as you.
To this end dressing differently enough to differentiate you from the other girls in the theme will probably work to your advantage. If the other girls are wearing slinkly white or green or black gowns, and you're the only one in a red one, you're easier to spot. Ditto jewelry - if it's distinctive.
Anything that'll make you stand out from the other girls dressed in the same general way helps us to remember you, and maybe ask you for a dance - otherwise you merge into all the other girls in gowns.
Other thing that's been mentioned is self-confidence. At the risk of stating the obvious, a dancer in something she feels makes her attractive is more confident than one who's got doubts about what she's wearing.
We guys come into SC's with our illusions - one of which is that you like us and enjoy dancing for us. So who are we going to pick for a dance, the dancer full of smiles, or the one with a slightly worried look on her face?
Phil.

^^ no. jewelry stays on the whole time.

I've found a lot of earrings left accidentally on the stage, back fastenings are a must! I have a few belly chains that I made that I always leave on and men always compliment me on them.
Jewelry stays on. Actually, I like to have some accessory that can stay on the whole time...a necklace, stockings, something in my hair...looks even more naked than naked, you know?
You should dress to match your club, your target clientele, your personal style, and your body type. And maybe your mood.
Beyond that, it's a bit mysterious, which is why I like to have a few things to change into if one doesn't work. Sometimes covering up seems to be the way to go. Sometimes I do better if I walk around buck-ass naked.
My best outfit is a short white halter dress. It's very plain, and I'm not sure why guys like it so much, but I get a lot of compliments on it. I asked why once, and the guy told me it looked "natural." Huh.
i hear both. this girl was dancing, and my custumer said, wow she leaves nothing to imagination when she first get on stage i see the end result. then when asking a male friend what i should wear to work he said as less clothes as possible b/c if i were at the club i would want to get a dance from a girl who i thought was going to get down to business...
My biggest money making outfit is this neon pink leopard print monstrosity. It's a long skirt with a slit up the side and a bra top. I bought it because I wanted to wear it OUT because I'm campy like that, but it has proven to be great for work.
Lately I have been wearing neutral earth tones mixed with some neon and a rhinestone choker and anklet. I work in a "hip" sort of sports bar topless club with lots of focus on stage and I work weekend nights.
Here's my "money outfit":

Same here. I've spent a lot of money that way!!! I wish I could be like this one girl I worked with, who started and ended her 5 year dancing career wearing the same red dress. She made SO much money and had no stripper expenses! I probably could have paid of my car if I had just stuck to one outfit.
I have a few categories of outfits I wear for different crowds:
1. Matching lingerie sets, with matching colored stockings and sometimes long gloves. Usually from places like Victoria's Secret, Trashy, or AP. This is the kind of outfit that I feel sexiest in and I wear it when I need to be cheered up. I try to stay away from black, although I have a whole lot of it. I do better in colors like pink, purple, blue... pretty colors. I think guys sometimes find black aggressive.
2. Themed outfits. I pick a theme that works for me, like nurse, schoolgirl, librarian. Usually stereotypical male fantasies. Works well for me onstage and to sell high volumes of table dances on a night where there are few VIPs to be sold (younger crowds, usually the weekend).
3. Straight up stripper outfits. This local lady makes these awesome sequin bikini sets that that quickly snap on and off. The tops push you up, the thong is super flattering, and you can get in and out of it in 2 seconds. Also good for big crowds, doing lots of table dances - they really sparkle in the light. For some reason, guys with a lot of money like this pretty trashy look. I usually get VIPs in these.
4. Gowns - I go for the gown club look when I have a regular coming in who I know is going straight to VIP with me.

This thread makes me want to buy another outfit... but I can't. I have a really bad stripper outfit addiction. I have outifts that I haven't even worn yet.![]()
Sadly I've found the more horrible and naff the outfit, the more I make. I've rocked some incredibly tacky shit over the years. Most of my work clothes have been hand-me-downs of stuff no one else will wear. Hah. I know it looks horrible, but whatever works, right?
