Default Nicest thing a dancer has ever done...period

So a few weeks ago I went to my local SC and the girl of whom Im a regular spotted me nearly instantly. She knows I usually will end up spending quite a few dances with her. But I like to get there and chill out for a little bit, its a good ride up there and I dont exactly drive a comfortable sedan, so like I said I wanna get a drink and relax for a little bit. Anyways, I go to the bar to get a drink and she comes over right away, we exchange some normal conversation, then she asked if I wanted to go upstairs now, or wait awhile.

Dont know why but I thought to myself "Yo dude, you better go now or she might be busy for the rest of the night." So I said these exact words, "Sure why not, dont want some guy with a thousand dollars in his pocket rollin up and takin ya for the night." Well as soon as I say that this older guy walks past and she turns to him instantly (I'm mid-sentence here) and is like "Hey stranger where have you been!?" Yada yada, some bullshit exchanged, then she looks at me, laughs and tells me to come with her. Turns out, that was the some guy who I was speaking of, who routinely drops like 1-1500 dollars on her everytime he is there. She actually took me upstairs and was like yo we can chill now. HAHA

A few songs go by and who do I see stroll back in to the private room but her same regular with some other girl. I told her not to turn around, but she did anyways, and I think she mighta been alittle upset, but hey it was her choice right? Haha, I almost felt like going and getting 500 dollars out of the ATM just to give her so I wouldnt feel bad....almost. But we had a great time anyways, and as soon as I get my car done I think Ill be goin back again.

I damn sure do appreciate her doin that!

So you appreciate her giving up over 1K to hang out with you? Yeah, I'm sure that really stroked your ego. She was probably kicking herself at the end of the night. Maybe you think it was "nice" of her to give up 1K to hang out with you, but in my world I call that "stupid."

You should definitely give her at least 500 dollars the next time you see her.

    ^ditto what she said.

Next time you see her, I think you owe her. She gave up 1K to be with you, and was definitely kicking herself all night. For you to say "don't turn around now but," is kind of mean too..... how much did you end up paying her for her time/conversation/dances?

^Maybe her word was more important to her than the money.^

She showed she respected you as a person by sticking to her word, and by extension she showed respect for herself. I think you could bring her something next time to show her you appreciated it, since it did cost her quite a bit.

Some small gift to let her know you noticed.

OK, now we're just getting silly. Now, in addition to paying for the dance he got, he's supposed to compensate the dancer for a dance she was never ( and might not ever have been) asked to perform? She did the right thing by keeping her word but I don't know if I'd call it the nicest thing ever. She made the decision to take the money in front of her for your dance ( however much that was ) as opposed to dropping you and chasing some other guy in the hopes of landing a more lucrative dance. It was probably a good business decision on her part unless the other guy was a sure thing. Trust me, the decision she made was what she thought was in her own best interests at the time she made it.

zyzzx. This is a job and other than doing something that I would find extremely unethical and morally reprehensible the money is the most important thing.

All I have to say is I hate it when that happens to me. I now keep in touch with my regulars via e-mail so I know how to plan it out. I also know who comes in on what days generally.

I would have excused myself and said that my main regular is here so I have to go now (yes, I have said that to guys and I don't consider that rude.)

The bottom line was it was her decision to go with you and not the other guy. Bringing her something extra next would be a nice gesture but I don't think you owe her money, unless that's what you want to give her.

I agree with Alia, keep in contact with big spending regulars. Why wouldn't she, that's just a dumb business move.

Certainly it was her decision - but the OP is taking a ridiculous amount of delight in the chick losing money. You've got to admit that it seems mean spirited. I think that is what the girls are responding to, more than a real notion that he "owes" her.

It was nice of her (though silly) to do that, it wasnt nice of you to go "oh haha dont look now but there goes $1000 that woulda been yours." You shouldnt have even mentioned that to her.

My favorite thing is when my ATF gives up time to sit with me for longer than she probably should. She doesn't even have to feel me out anymore cause she seems to know me well enough to know when I want dances and when I dont in the first minute or two of talking with me AND STILL chills for awhile. I've been a dumbass lately and don't deserve it sometimes but yeah... that's probably not the nicest thing she's done for me, but it's the one I like the most.
Man oh man, what a trip it's been.

Yeah, if he's enjoying someone else's misfortune, that would be wrong, particularly if she was a regular he was fond of. When I've found myself in a similar situation to his, I've told the girl to go with the other guy and we can do the dance another time. I mean, its not the only chance I'll have at a dance with her and I have plenty of other friends in the bar.

    i agree with jenny...

and i think that the girl either made a bad choice that wound up costing her a lot more money -or- maybe the other regular is a pain in the ass.

there's always the option that she just didn't feel like "dealing with" that other guy for one reason or another.

I don't know you can say she made a bad choice given what she knew at the time. She had the OP's money ( we never heard how much ) all but in her pocket at the time the other guy showed up. She went for the sure thing. Had she blown off the OP for the other guy and then not gotten a dance from him she'd have had nothing. So much of this job seems to be hit or miss. She followed the adage " a bird in the hand beats two in the bush " ( no pun intended ) .

she could have sized up the opportunity by saying hi to him.

This guy may have a few girls he spends money on esp since he went back with someone else in no time.

If the guy didn't respond like he wanted her time at that moment it would be wise to seize the opportunity with you.

the likelihood is that she thought the OP would get 4-5 dances and the high roller would wait for that amount of time, whereas the higher spending customer would take up a lot of time, and nobody would wait that out kind of thing. Didn't work out, but that was probably what she thought. And he doesn't owe her anything but what he promised and, of course, to behave in a nice and decent fashion, which would usually involve not gloating that she just made the wrong choice.

Well, hopefully the big spender was just filling time waiting for her and she still got her money from him later.

I prob would have taken the OP first too since I already commited to it, BUT..I would go ove r to Mr High Rollar and said that I just had someone ask for a dance and that I was looking forward to spendng time with him as soon as I finished. So the other guy knew I was coming back and not blowing him off. Every huge spending reg I've ever had would wait for me. He may though..do a few dances with someone else while hes waiting for me. Thats fine..I'll still make my money off him so let another girl make some too.

It is kind of an a-hole thing to be HAPPY that you think she lost out. I'd feel bad(even if it was her choice) if someone I liked lost money because of me.If thats how you acted...I can assure you she wont put you first next time, already committed or not. I wouldnt.

It could easily be SS. Mr K comes in, always warms up with a fluffer, has a few drinks, then spends money on the OP's dancer. That night she made money in her wait time, proved she's in demand with younger guys, and made the OP feel special. Maybe she knows how to play the game.

This exactly what I was thinking. She was hoping to get both of the guy's money. She took an gamble and lost....this time.
It was a good gamble. All of my regular girls know that I will wait for a while if they see another regular and don't want him to get scooped up by another dancer. I'm a loyal guy (read FOOL) and they know I'm not going to buy dances from another dancer if I came to see them.

As for the original post, I wouldn't be bragging about it here either but it's certainly not his fault and he owes her nothing.

I wouldn't call this deed so much nice as I would foolish.

Which would kind of conclude that she cost herself money. If she had a choice, she had a choice to go with the other party. Previous business is never an obligation to do future business.

However, I think that I can conclude that in Mark's case the next time that it comes down between another regular and himself for this dancer's time, he may likely find himself to be the one put on hold, so its rather erroneous to brag about whatever special treatment he got. It doesn't feel so nice when you're the one waiting in the queuing line.

Dude, I can think of a lot things a dancer could do for me that would rate much higher than the aforementioned foolish business decision. A lot of things.

Yeah, that's why I facetiously wrote that he should give her 500 dollars. I mean, it's obvious that you did not feel that bad, because you thought she was being "nice" to you and you appreciated that she gave up a sizable chunk of change to hang out with your precious self. I mean, you typed "haha" TWICE in your post. You also said, "we had a great time anyways," which, sorry to say, is probably not true for her. We're not there to have a great time, buddy. It's business.

So was I, whats your point? Hopefully you understood that just because she picked me first, doesn't mean she had no chance of seeing her other regular at some point afterwards. Because according to most people that is EXACTLY what my post meant.
