    Default Auditioned at Pin ups/Atlanta

I auditioned a Pin ups yesterday I didn't get the job was told to come back. The guy told me by body was fine but I needed to work on my dancing more. Help I need to learn how to drop it like a stripper quick fast and in a hurry. I need a job soon.My some beginning pole tricks and splits might help me get the job next time.

Are you dancing like you would on the dancefloor at a club maybe? Because you don't want to do that. Try going into that club or another and watching how the dancers move. They shouldnt care if you can do pole tricks or not...and those arent something you can learn over a message board. Theres a book called the S Factor by Sheila Kelley, its a strip excercise book and it has pictures and instructions for basic floorwork (and pole work too). After you look at that, or watch some girls, go home, get your mirror and some music and watch yourself...see what looks good. Be slow and sensual, make eye contact, and try not to be too stiff. I learned that way, dancing in my mirror and watching other dancers.

Taylorlila, at a black club like Pin-Ups, slow and sensual dancing won't get you any money (unless they are playing a slow song which is rare). You need to have an energetic show or the customers won't tip.

Maybe try a more mixed club where there will be a mix of dance styles? That way you can ease yourself towards the style you like by watching the girls you like. (I'm also looking for work in ATL, so I feel your pain/confusion.) Do you want to work at a "black club"? If so, I'm looking at a magazine (Xcitement) and it looks like, from the ads, that some others are Blue Flame Lounge, Club Blaze, Foxy Lady Lounge, Dancers Elite, and Club Babes. I personally have not been to any of the above, and cannot recommend any from experience.

One club I went to, called 21, right at the intersection of Cheshire Bridge rd and Piedmont (it's on Piedmont Circle) was a waste of time for me personally, and is very costly to go in and check out ($20 to park, $20 admission). But it's a total black club. Lots of that booty shaking, bouncing in splits, spinning as fast as one can around the pole... I found it dirty and unsafe. Rips in the seats, dirty floor, exposed 2x4's under the stage... Someone lit up a blunt next to me when I was sitting there. It's SOOOOO loud. BUT... the girls seem to make good money. Everyone was selling dances. Easily. Guys were paying girls to dance "with" them naked, not the traditional lap dance. Dances there are ten. And there is a LOT of money to be made on stage. Four to five dancers on a tiny stage at once, and they pool the money and split it, as the money is in a pile on stage. And... sometimes ankle deep.

Please let us know how your search goes.

Alot of clubs in Atlanta don't make you audition. Just try different clubs and when you get more practice, you'll be a better dancer and you could switch to different clubs.

I used to work for Dollhouse on Cheshire Bridge and Maxim on Roswell road. The owner is very nice and they are both clean, mixed race clubs that do not require auditions. In some cases, they may ask you to audition just to make sure you don't have a third arm growing from your patooty, but other than that you're good to go.
