    Default otc painkillers?

i need to get my wisdom teeth out BAD. well, one of them. the others arent bothering me at all and never do, but one hurts so bad. its awful. i cant do it though til i save up some money (with my dui costs and stuff) so that taking a little time off work wont bother me. i just took time off for vacation, too

i took 4 tylenol about an hour ago (2000 mg total) and that isnt helping at all. are there any over the counter painkillers that you guys know of that work really well? im thinking about taking a muscle relaxer at night so i can sleep better with it, but i need something for the day so i can still function when i have to go to work at night.

You need something like Advil or Asprin... Tylenol sucks for tooth pain. When my Wisdom tooth is bugging me(I have one thats impacted and pushes once n awhile n drives me mad) I take a couple of advil and it seems to help.

Percogesic will make you sleepy so you can at least sleep through some of the pain. The PM painkillers do that too of course.

Oh hun, I feel for ya. I tried taking 3 ibuprofen when my 2 remaining wisdom teeth were bothering me in January. It didn't help. I set up an emergency appointment with an oral surgeon that my dentist recommended & got those fuckers pulled 4 days after I started being in pain. If they're only a little impacted it shouldn't cost more than $200 per tooth without insurance. My bottom wisdom teeth were severely impacted & I got them out for $250 per tooth (and the surgeon was supposedly "the best oral surgeon in Chicago.") Rinse with warm salt water & drink warm drinks as much as possible until you can get them pulled - that made mine feel better. Maybe you could try Oragel (or whatever that stuff is called that you put on babies when they're teething.)
