    Default Going gray at 24

I found 2 gray hairs close to my hairline yesterday. I had found my first when I was 19 then another one at 21 but I am sure there's more on the back of my head. My hair is auburn(reddish brown) and I know if it increases people will be able to see from miles away. What should I do? Go darker? If darker jet black? Lighter? If lighter should I go to chocolate brown with blonde highlights?
It is normal to go gray so early?

Everyone goes gray at different times. We had a patient come in with a full head of gray hair at 24! There is some hope though. Sometimes those grays are just a few hair follicles damaged from bleach or other chemicals. Those gray hairs are usually just strays and don't progress to anything else. Fingers crossed.

Don't think there is the case for me. I talked to my mom and she said my older brother had a full head of gray by the age of 27. I guess I will have to dye sooner than most

most people have a few by then. i'm only 28 and i have quite a few. my boyfriend is 26 and he has quite a few too. i think it's pretty normal.

if you're more than say 5% though.. then it might be a little advanced.

I'd go darker with a semi-permanent dye, so it's not too damaging. You may also want to look into henna, which is a conditioning colour.

Hair does weird things like that. I wouldn't worry unless it was noticeable without close inspection. My ex had a 3 or 4 white beard hairs at 25 and never got any more. I have two black hairs on my arm that I always yank out. They aren't on my head but hair everywhere does weird things on occasion. I wouldn't bother until it was more noticeable (unless I had a big white streak like Rogue, that would be kinda cool lol)

My first grey came in at 17 or 18. I probably have six total... My mom says it's genetic. I knew a girl who had a TON of them my JR year in high school. Don't stress... and I wouldn't worry about dying until other people start pointing them out.

Darker hair makes gray stand out more if you have a lot of em, like I do! I'm like 60% gray and I'm 23! Sucks..

My one friend says stray greys come from stress....My brother is 27 & going gray already...It looks better on men though, it's hot!

I actually have a grey eyebrow hair I pluck everytime it grows in.

Random info there for you...I recommend you do a color rinse (red rinses are great for auburn hair anyway) it'll color the greys to where they look more like highlights.
