    Default Here I Go Again....

Okay, ya'll are going to think I'm really some sort of paranoid shoe freak, and I probably am, but I want to be very thorough before I start dancing and want to have as few 'finding out the hard way's as I can lol so here's another shoe rant: The first outfit that I am going to make for my dancing wardrobe is going to look pretty similar to this: I'm not sure if I'm going to make silk bananas or have just strands of rhinestones and sparkles for the skirt, and I'll be sure to construct it in a way that'll make it very easy to get down to nothing but a rhinestone g-string lol. But bananas or not, I need a nice pair of sparkley heels to go with the threads. (I'm 5'10'' and not too into the 6 inches and up platforms ) But here are my dilemmas... Now these in silver I think would perfectly fit the outfit that I'm going to create, but I'm wondering if dancing and being on my feet for hours would be harder in a shoe like that with such minimal strapping. A lot of the heels I wear now are pretty much like this: shoes that have more structure and more of an encasing around more of the foot, and what I've experienced with the few pairs of shoes that I have with less encasing(?) is that after a few hours of heavy activity in them and sweat, my feet want to slide way down. But the ones I have now that I experience that with are also a little lower than the ones in the first link and have more of a platform. Has anyone else ever danced in shoes as skimpily designed as those and was it bearable or should I not even attempt to consider those...? Now these I think would be more ideal as in support (heavier, thicker, sturdier strapping and foot coverage) but I'm not too crazy about the aesthetic. And these I'm thinking might be the ones in the middle: (silver of course) They have more encasing around the toes and still have a support to the ankle, and don't look quite as dainty and delicate and difficult as my first choice. Or do they still look too delicate and therefor unbearable? I just don't want to impulse-buy the wrong thing just 'cause it's purdy.

Your feet are going to kill you regardless of what you wear the first few days, but honestly, getting a pair of regular 'stripper' heels made all the difference in the world when I started. I thought I would be more comfortable in shoes similar to the ones you have linked to at first and they made it about 2 days before I tossed them to the back of my closet.

I constantly wear heels and I'm pretty used to it, but five inchers hurt and that's probably what I'll be wearing most of the time. But five inchers with a platform like these would be more comfy? I wish they came in silver.

Your planned outfit is really hot, but I'm worried that it might be too fancy to wear in a strip club. I'm not familiar with how it works in New Jersey, is it a lapdance club? With all that heavy detailing and sparkles and rhinestones and whatnot, it might be a pain in the ass and it might not last but a few shifts. Outfits have a hard life! Think about it. I usually do about 20-30 lapdances in a long shift, so I take my outfit on and off 20-30 times, not including stage!
That's why you see so many girls wearing simple soft stretchy outfits like this one that are comfortable and can take the abuse (for a while).

Also, why not go for the 6 inch heels? I am 5'9" and I wear 7 inch heels. You are already tall, so the guys who don't like tall girls aren't going to go for you anyway regardless of how tall your shoes are, and the guys that like tall girls will just think it's that much hotter! Also, most guys in strip clubs are sitting down, and they are a bad judge of how tall you are that way. 6 inch heels are WAAAYYY more comfortable.

My overly-glitzy outfit is especially funny because from what I've been told by the girl who works at the club that I'm going to audition for, most of the girls there have piercings and tatoos lol, so I'll probably look a little out of place.... I don't mind.

As far as heel height, I guess I should just go for the 6 inchers, what the heck is the difference between an inch? You're right, I will look tall either way lol. And the platform really does help the comfort? Of the few 5 inch heels that I own there is no platform whatsoever, my foot's basically in a very steep position and all of my weight bears directly onto the balls of my feet. Luckily, after a few hours of pain in those my feet go pretty numb so I can't even feel that they're hurting lol!

Also, how many different outfits do you wear in one night? I assume I should bring a back-up plan for everything, but do you often change just for the heck of it throughout the night at all? Do you get to walk around in what you performed in on stage off of the stage?

I usually just wear one outfit per night, unless something gets spilled on me or I get bored or a custie mentions he like xxx kind of outfit so I put it on for him. In my club anyway, there are no rules regarding wearing anything at all, as long as you are wearing a T-back somewhere. Your club may have rules about wearing things on/off stage, but I've never heard of it.

Do you plan on working nude/topless, stage only/lapdance, etc?

The girl I know there told me that it is topless, although I read on an online review that it was 'all nude.' Either way I don't care lol. I assume that I'll be doing mostly lap dances and stage work occasionally, she says that a set is one song, and that she goes up once maybe twice a night for the exposure.

I highly suggest you visit this place first. It might not be worth your time to create an outfit like that. Rhinestones snag on everything too! I recommend keeping it very simple. And visit the club!

Quoted for truth. Just walking through a club from my dressing room to the stage, I've snagged a couple of my feature costumes on random things. Performing surgery on an outfit at work sucks ass.

Um, honey, that is very dangerous. You need to minimize the strain on your body so down the road it doesn't cause worse physical damage. Platforms are easier on the feet. And also the taller the shoes, the less incline on the foot. So actually for example 8 inchers have less of a steepness than 7 inchers, etc.

Letting your foot go numb like that repeatedly is NOT healthy!

Seriously, get the stripper shoes & don't worry about the height. Guys in the clubs expect them and know you are going to be tall because of the extra 6-7 inches. Shoes made for dancing are much better for your feet, much more comfortable and the heel is reinforced so you don't have to worry about accidental breaks.

    Good Luck!

I know, I read that eventually I could lose feeling in parts of my feet and/or severely mess up my achilles tendon. Now at work when I know I'll be standing for hours I wear wedges, and when I know I'll be running around in heels for a while I use those clear jelly pad things for underneath the balls of your feet, although I never quite notice a difference with or without them. I didn't even think about the rhinestones snagging though...
