A baby bunny. My dog got it out of it's nest
It was breathing and I tried getting in to a warm shirt and box to take it to the vet but it didn't make it![]()

may it RIP
i wish I knew where he nest was so I can put something so the dog doesn't get the other ones.
Is this in your garden? Probably in a bush somewhere
I have an acre, so the land is pretty big, and there are woods area and flowers, so no clue. I'm so upset by this. Once we were out with the kids and this baby bird fell from the tree and he killed it, the kids screamed so hard! my older one said "Choco NO! :he name dhte bird!: mommy poor choco"
I jus thave to stop taking the dog out with me in the back to run free. I had a snapping turtle not too long ago and I got that one in acage and relesed it in a creek but it was a big one. I am going to see if I can find this nest though cause these poor things can't defend themselves like the turtle could.
Turtles/tortoises are greatWe have quite a few as pets

Oh this one was a snapping turtle, it was quiet big, I had to get it with a huge shovel, Ihad no clue they hissed!
A shovel
Yeah, I've never seen one, but I know they can defend themselves! Mini aligators![]()
Oh yeah it was about a foot and a half, I wasn't going to touch that! lol
Well I'm off to celebrate my son's 5th bday. Just not cool to have this so early in the AM. Thanks for being nice.
You're welcomeAM? It's half 3 in the afternoon here :o
Have a good day
OMG how SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!![]()
Bbay bunneis hardly ever survive in captivity. Once they have been removed from the nest....it's very very raer that they will live.
I found hte nest!!! With tons of bunnies! and the mama!!
here is the mama
and the nest is near my back door! So I put some food for mama and now I know where they are and the dog ain't going alone to pee.
OH...How sweet! Good for you. You tried![]()

Yes. Awww! There are some in my yard early in the eve. I watch them play. I have a pet mini Rex Dwarf, she's a deep charcoal grey, & so sweet.
Kind of you to help 'em out..

Aww, that's so sad that it was still breathing and then just died.
I actually didn't know bunnies were born in nests, guess there is truth to the Cadbury bunnie and the eggs belonging mysteriously to him. Lame, IknoIkno. I know, I'm sure it's not a bird's nest...just a warm soft spot. Poor baby.

Okay. Flame away.
I wouldn't hestitate to kill it. I'm serious. Rabbits are a pest in this country.
Just like I wouldn't hestitate to kill a canetoad.
Here in Australia it is an INTRODUCED NON NATIVE SPECIES that is now a real threat to native flora and fauna ........and is now a pest.
They are FAR from being so cute n cuddly here in Australia.
Rabbit Problems in Australia
http://www.animalcontrol.com.au/rabbit.htm
Even wikipedia has something ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbits_in_AustraliaEnvironmental vandals
The rapid spread of the rabbit led to the destruction of large tracts of vegetation, leading to the extinction of many plant species. Loss of vegetation leads to soil erosion as the exposed soil is washed or blown away, removing valuable soil nutrients required for new plants to develop. This soil is typically deposited in waterways, causing siltation and destroying aquatic ecosystems.
This wanton destruction of habitat has contributed to the demise of many native marsupial species such as the bilby and the bandicoot as their feed sources were outstripped by marauding rabbits.
OTOH, if it was a native animal and not regarded and/or listed as a pest... I'm all for rescusing it!I'll do all I can for the native flora and fauna ...........................
( yes i keep a cat yet all cats under my care/responsibility are not harmful to the environment.. not under my watch! )
Then again, keeping rabbits as pets is currently illegal in Queensland (where I reside and have been raised) under the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002. There is a penalty for keeping a rabbit without a permit (maximum $30,000). A permit may be granted for research, public education or public display.

No flame...just...ugh.
I shouldent have opened this thread. PMS and dead bunnys =almost crying!
If I saw a kanagroo in Jersey...well my fight or flight response would be raging and I wouldn't feel so cute n cuddly, either...

Okay, that's different.
I'm just so so used to rabbits being a pest more than an actual native. Just the way I was raised and due to the country I reside within..........
