Default Need help justifying a purchase... a shoe purchase.

I didn't even know they made shoes. I was walking by a boutique on the Upper East Side and saw these. They had them in a shades of gray and black colorway, also one that was just sooo bright.

They come with a cream patent leather bow and heel:

    http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/24570365.html

I'm trying to justify buying these. I can't figure out how to yet. Any help? The only thing I could say so far is that they're cute, and that I could wear them to work (office job). But that's not enough for that amount of money... I need more justifications.

Also, has anyone here ever bought shoes or tried shoes from Missoni before?

A pair of shoes will totally make an outfit. However, see if other brands are making cheaper knockoffs.

Well..they are very colorful, so they will match alot of different outfits. Shoes can totally make the outfit. If you feel hot and sexy i your outfit, you will work better. Actually, buying these shoes is doing your boss a favor, because they will make you work so much better.

Plus...if you wear them only half the year, they will only cost about $2 a day.

If you only wear these shoes for 90 days total, they will only end up costing $5 a day.

$5 a day is totally worth feeling pretty in new shoes, isn't it?

I didn't know they made shoes either! But they are gorgeous. Check ebay?

Jeeebuss, I have never purchased a pair of shoes over 100 bucks but I found other things to blow my money in on.

Speaking from personal experience I wish I had saved more money when I danced and allowed a certain amount each month for guilty pleasures as opposed to spending it all like I ended up doing. It's obviously your money and choice but I'd try to find a similiar pair that was less expensive.

Greenlady- Thanks for the saving reminder, it's very valid advice!!!! Personally however, financially speaking for me, getting these shoes means less yarn or less make up or a few nights staying in where I'd normally go out to dinner... My finances are in a healthy state.

austinatalie- I did already. No luck Even so, I don't know what size I am in Missoni shoes.

Kaylinn- I like the way you think!!!! LOL. They are more spring and summery. So if I wore them twice a week from may through sept, that would be 44 times, or 10 bucks a wear. But they should last at least two or three years, right? So 3-5 bucks a pop? Yep. I could do that.

I just checked my spending cash. I'll either have to put a hundred on my credit card (which I hate doing, and therefore won't) or decide where to take that money from. I will repeat the affirmation of hating LR, as after my shopping spree at lush last week, I had come home and started a 'lush' fund in my lockbox. I have another hundred in there.

    Oh god. Shoes or lush?

Shoes. I can wait a month for more lush, but the shoes may not be there...

    Thanks ladies!!!!! I'm getting them!!

Hmmm, it seems as though the ones with black would be more suitable to wear on into the fall.

Sometimes the knockoffs break easily. You can totally combine these shoes with jeans, skirts, dresses... they are versatile.

Although a tad pricey, they will probably last a really long time. You will get your moneys worth!

Not to mention you will never find a perfect knockoff when it comes to Missoni. Plus you just won't get the same satisfaction when you wear them. Down with knockoffs!

I like the black for fall. You'll get more use out of them which helps to justify the cost.

I don't see what's so special about them...Makes me wonder what I'm missing. What makes these really unique and special. And I'm not being a bitch--I'm truly curious because I rarely get what sets designer shit apart. Can someone enlighten me?

Well, I won't speak for others, but a few things that stand out about these for me (hence why I want them) are:

    Details, details, details!!

You will not find Missoni fabric covering anything but Missoni items.

The color combinations are just perfect in my book. There's enough colors to make them feel special, but not so bright or too many that they can't be used as a neutral. Because the chevron pattern is a classic, it can still be mixed with an outfit that has patterns in it.

The fact that the bow and the heel are the same is a nice way to bring in the patent leather, be it the cream or the black. And patent leather is always awesome in my book!

Also, the construction. While the out is a thin knitted fabric, it's all leather support.

I also like the fact that they lined it in Metallic leather. It's a thoughtful touch. It'll be nice seeing that glint of gold when I put them on and remove them.

Also, while I'm a HUGE fan of cheap shoes, especially cute cheap shoes, it's always my designer heels that I can spend more time in. If I'm going to be in heels for more than a few hours, give me my stripper shoes, my designer heels, or wood soled heels. That's it. As adorable as my Aldo's and Steve Maddens and misc other shoes are, they just don't feel right after a couple hours.

Also, I forget what magazine it was, but it went into what make the designer and the 'mass' produced shoes different and warranted the hundreds of dollars change in the price tag. I don't remember much, but it had convinced me...

Speaking of cheap shoes, I actually bought the cutest pair of sandals off a website AndyGirl introduced to me, cutesyshoes.com. She had bought a couple of HOT pairs of heels off that site! Just don't order clothing off there- I tried and had to return everything! Bad bad quality.

^ See, there you go, you made your own justifications.

Here's another: those shoes are barely a night work! Pft, you can make it tomorrow! (Bad bad bad I know.. but hey, she asked)

I like them better in black, and I think that they will look better longer in that color.

Get the shoes!!!! But... wait until you can afford to pay cash for them. If you can't pay for them cash, you really can't afford them right now.

Like Katherine said, with designer items it all comes down to the details. The craftsmen-ship, the materials used, the design, the feel. Missoni is known for their zigzag prints and any fashionista worth her Manolos would instantly recognize them. Missoni is so effortlessly chic, so Italian.

When it comes to designer purchases, I like to splurge on shoes and bags. You get your moneys worth that way and makes your cute more affordable stuff look a lot more expensive. Bags and shoes are worth the money, IMO. They last a really long time if you take care of them and if you choose classic pieces, they will always be in style and you will never get sick of them. I always invest in accessories over clothing.

I'm currently lemming these Dior ones...in both colors, but I want the black ones first. What do you guys think of them? I think they are pretty classic and I'll love them for a long time. They are $515.

And I agree, shoes never need a justification!! Sometimes you need reassurance though.

    I LOVE the beige^^^.

I think beige shoes are sooo sexy, they remind me of Suzanne Summers, who seemed to wear them every freakin day (episode), majorly sexxxayyy!

They feel self-satisfied knowing how much they paid for the item and then they get that admiration from others who recognize the item as designer.

    That's kinda what I figured.

However, I can understand some of the other arguements--like the construction. But ithat's moot to me because all the "high-quality leather construction" is useless to a vegan. And, you know--it would be nice to own something more unique and special--not just a watered down Target version of last spring's catwalk favorites. But again with the leather.
